Dear grandfather of Diane and Rick Walsh, Marianne and Leanne Scott; Calvin and Sarah Charbonneau and great-grandfather of Dylan and Brayden Walsh. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Ruth and Alan Hill and Alan and Liz Scott all of Lucan, Ann Scott of Newmarket and Alice and Ab Gilmour of Lucan. Predeceased by his parents Erwin and Alice Scott and a brother Douglas Scott.

Dear grandmother of Sean, Adam and Robert; Kelly and Michelle; and Madison and Ainsley. Dear sister and sister in law of Jack and Marg Boland of Lucan; Ed Ryan, Jack Ryan, and Frank and Marie Ryan all of London; and Theresa Boland, Patricia Boland and Marg Boland all of London. Predeceased by her daughter Nancy Ryan (1980) and her son Paul Ryan; sister Marie Walsh (late Bill); brothers Joseph, Lawrence, Jerry and Leonard; sister in law Grace Fraser; and brother in law Bill Ryan.

Dear father Dan and Carolyn Gower, Joe and Vicki Gower, and Dennis and Laura Gower all of Exeter. Dear grandfather of Blake, Ashlynn, Hannah, Curtis, Wyatt, Kane and Weston. Dear brother and brother in law of Barb and Brian Hallman of Wingham, Tom and Jean Gower of Melbourne, Nelson and Sharon Gower of Woodstock, Wayne and Brenda Riley of Bluevale, and Bev and Thelma Riley of Ingersoll. Also, survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother Herman Gower (2008) and sister in law Patricia Gower (2008).

Cherished daughter of Denis and Susan Merrall of London and dear daughter-in-law of Doris Laycox of Clinton. Fondly remembered by her sister and brother-in-law Janice and Shawn Larder of Stratford and dear sister-in-law of Rodger and Lisa Laycox of Clinton, Harry and Theresa Laycox of Seaforth and Royce and Patty Laycox of Stratford. Especially missed by her niece Denise Larder and nephews Benjamin and Jared Larder. Also survived by her 2 grandmothers and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Joanne will always be remembered in our hearts.

Lewis Stafford de Sausmarez Carey, at his workplace of almost 20 years, LHSC-University Hospital, London on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 in his 84th year. Beloved husband of the late Beverly (Baxter) Carey (2008). Dear father and father-in-law of Richard, Mark, John, Susan, David, Bonnie, Sandra, Alison, Janice and Angela. Opinionated grandfather (Papa Doc) of Kate, Lea, Phil, Jennifer, Michael, William, Little Serena. Predeceased by his sisters Rosalie Doig and Joan Donley. Born in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, July 9, 1925 he attended boarding school in Duncan on Vancouver Island and completed his undergraduate degree at UBC. He met his lovely wife in medical school at Queens University and shortly thereafter, moved to Minnesota where he raised his family, studied and practiced radiology. As chairman of radiology at the University of Western Ontario for 15 years, he was instrumental in organizing the first Canadian Telemedicine Project. His work proved to be the catalyst for the development of Satellite Health Services in Canada.
A memorial service will be held at the Birr United Church (Highway #4 and Thirteen Mile Road) on Friday, November 13th at 1:30 PM with Rev. Bill McAuslan officiating. Interment Birr United Cemetery has taken place.
