Grandma you are much loved and will be missed greatly by all of us! You will always be an incredible source of pride to me, such courage and strength you have shown, right to the end, I admire you so very much. Whenever I bake zucchini or banana bread, or the coveted hello dollies! squares I will always think of you and smile; they are your recipes passed on through Mom to me…I’ve let my children know you’re the source of such scrumptious treats! :) My children, your great-grandchildren, Genevieve, Liam, Madeline, Juliana and Catherine are all saddened to see you go too soon as well…we have great memories of visiting with you and Wil along with Mom, at the farm over the past couple of summers. The Kabota tractor rides you gave the children remain a great memory and hightlight for them! Even when you were in obvious pain this summer you fired up the engine and gave them rides down the laneway and back. We will miss coming to visit you this summer; Genevieve and Liam were looking forward to coming and staying with you to help out in the field, especially the raspberry field where they delighted in picking the remnants of this year’s harvest along with the other children. You couldn’t believe how many they found (enough for Cat to fill her belly the day of, and to fill a pie crust to bake and enjoy later at home!). We are also saddened that you will not get a chance to meet your next great-granddaughter who is due to arrive in February, but know that you will be smiling down upon her! :) The smell of baked ham has and always will remind me of you and the farm, the many Easter/dinners we spent with you and Grandpa…secretly feeding Licorice scraps of food under the table. I have a vivid memory of the glowing white stones that lined your laneway in the dark evenings before leaving for home, along the gravelly road (the stones “plinking” against the station wagon) after visiting when I was a child. You may be gone, but will never be forgotten, I know a thin veil separates us from you and that we’ll see you again. There’s so much more that I could say about you and memories I have of you! We are comforted that you’re home in the happiness of heaven with Grandpa. May God bless you and keep you, we love you! Love, Janine & Kenn, Genevieve, Liam, Madeline, Juliana & Catherine Belford xo

We found this very fitting poem named Dorothy I heard a voice call out to me, As they stood beside my bed I heard a voice call out to me but it was not in my head I heard it loudly, and heard it clear, And as I rose to stand I heard a voice call out to me, “Come, this way, take my hand.” I heard a voice call out to me, I did not feel any pain I felt completely well again, And then I heard Him say, “It is time now, Dorothy. You have been a faithful child. And all will be much better.” The voice became so mild. I saw a star of light, just ahead of me, When I looked into the light I saw my family I saw my aunts and uncles, mama and daddy, too I saw friends from my past, I barely even knew! I heard a voice call out to me But, really, must I go? I do not know why I have lingered so I heard a voice call out to me, It was my daughter and my son And I wanted to stay with them, but my time on Earth was done. I heard a voice call out to me, and as I turned to go He said my children will live on, But, trust me, they will know. I heard a voice call out to me I wanted to go back But all life’s treasures seemed so small when holding Jesus’ hand I heard a voice call out to me As he put His hand in mine His precious warmth surrounded me And will for all of time We love you
