Noreen (Shipley) Graves

It is with great sadness that Stephanie and Bob Harvey announce the passing of “Aunty Reen” at Strathmere Lodge on Friday, March 26, 2010, in her 103rd year. Noreen was a well-known part of the village of Ilderton, where she lived an active life that included much community service in such things as Junior Farmers, variety show productions, Fair Board activities and her church, Grace Anglican where she was an organist for many years. Noreen was the last surviving member of the Thomas and Annie (Priestly) Shipley family of Lobo Township. Noreen was predeceased by her husband George Graves (1977) and her sisters Rita (Meredith) Charlton, Gertrude (Cecil) Walls, Jean (Charles) Grieve, Eva (Stephen) Medd, Carrie (Donald) Shore and her brothers Elliot (Agnes) Shipley, Harry (Margaret) Shipley and Jack (Beatrice) Shipley. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She is sorely missed by her good friend Pat Thorsley of Edmonton.
Friends may call one hour prior to the funeral service which will be held at Grace Anglican Church, 13301 Ilderton Road, Ilderton on Monday, March 29th at 11 AM with Father Daniel Bowyer officiating. Interment St. Georges Cemetery, Middlesex Centre.

Marjorie (Neil) Matthewson

Peacefully passed on early morning March 21, 2010 at the Brampton Civic Hospital in her 94th year.
Beloved wife of the late Ern Matthewson. Dear sister of Marion and Ned Crowley of Vancouver. Also survived by nieces and nephews Anne Crowley, Maureen de St. Croix, Paul, Steve and John Crowley; and Cherry Enger and Martin Neil. Predeceased by her parents Pearl (Whiteford) and Harry Neil and a brother Jim Neil (2009). Born in Clandeboye, Marjorie graduated from Lucan High School. She married Ern in 1942 and lived her life in Toronto. Marjorie was active for many years in Girl Guides. Marjorie enjoyed and was much loved by many friends of all ages. Her generous and happy spirit will be missed by all.
Cremation. A graveside service will be held at St. James Cemetery, Clandeboye on Saturday, March 27th at 11 AM. No flowers please.

Dear mother of Wendy and Brian Smith of Blenheim and Nancy Hodgert of Exeter. Dear grandmother of Amy and Barry Parsons and Ann Marie Hodgert and great-grandmother of Natalie and Janelle Parsons. Dear sister of Mabel Reilly of Strathroy, Alice Earley of St. Catherines, Mary Clark of Nairn, Dorothy Glover of Mt. Brydges, Mac Sutherland of Forest and sister-in-law of Jean Dodge of Cairngorm. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by son-in-law Grant Hodgert, sister Evelyn Sutherland, brother Wilfred Sutherland, sisters-in-law Marion Sutherland, Velda Sutherland, Evelyn Richardson, Eileen Winter and Mary Richardson and brothers-in-law Wallis Reilly, Ray Earley, Donald Clark, Leslie Glover, Murray Richardson, Frank Winter, Blake Richardson and Ken Dodge.

Peacefully at St. Marys Memorial Hospital with family at her side, passed away on March 19, 2010. Adored wife of William (Bill) Heather of Exeter. Loving mother of Kim and Ronald Willems of Germany, Kevin and Laurie Heather of Calgary, Karl Heather of Calgary and Karen Heather of Exeter. Cherished grandmother of Hannah; Kelsey, Jenna and Scott; Cody; and Erika, Taylor and Rachael. Beloved sister and sister-in-law of Garry and Jane Parkinson of St. Marys and Helen Bettger of Kitchener. Admired step-daughter of Spence Read of St. Marys. Also proudly remembered by her cousins, nieces and nephews and their families. Predeceased by her parents, Ray Parkinson and Edythe (Parkinson) Read and her brother and sister-in-law Wayne and Lynda Parkinson. Donna was an amazing inspiration to her entire family battling her cancer with incredible spirit and determination.
