 Peacefully at his late residence with his family at his side on Saturday, March 20, 2010 George Van Geel of RR# 3 Lucan in his 69th year.  Beloved husband of Mary (Van Gaal) Van Geel.  Dear father of Paul and Joan Van Geel of Ottawa, Nancy and Jeff Shipley of Ilderton and Ron (Ringo) and Angela Van Geel of Birr. Loving grandfather of Amanda and Evan; Steven, Ryan and Katie and Joshua, Matthew and Laura.  Dear brother and brother-in-law of Catherine Van Bussel, Frank and Bridgette Van Geel, Pete Van Geel and Pat MacDonald, Andy Van Geel and Gloria Hodgins and Walda and Gary Barker all of Lucan, John Van Geel and Joe Eagleson of Poplar Hill, Nancy and Bob Flanigan of Ilderton, Mary and Harold McAdam of Allenford, Jack and Wanda Van Geel of Forest, Keith Van Geel of Harrington, Lois Van Geel of London, Jack and Mary Van Gaal of Lucan, Annie Van Lieshout and Jean Vanden Hengel both of Strathroy, Gerry and Betty Van Gaal, Grad and Annie Van Gaal and Wilma and Guy Vervoort all of Lethbridge, Alberta, John and Liz Van Gaal of Stratford and Irma and Bill Sleegers of London. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Dear son of the late Catherine (Van de Laar) and the late Jacobus (Jac) Van Geel and step-son of Quirina (De Koning) Van Geel. Predeceased by brother Carl Van Geel, sister-in-law Joyce Van Geel and brother-in-law Chris Van Bussel. 

Friends may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, Lucan on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church, Lucan on Tuesday, March 23rd at 2 PM with Father Ray Lawhead presiding. Interment St. Patrick’s Cemetery. 

Donations to the London Regional Cancer Program or VON Palliative Care.

Prayers will be said in the funeral home on Monday afternoon at 1:15 PM.

Memorial Tree

Each year we hold a tree dedication ceremony at Morrison Dam in Exeter. We purchase a tree to be planted in memory of the lives lost from the previous year.

Our Service Coverage Area

Service AreaWe are always willing to go where called upon but this image shows a visual of the communities that our included in our initial transportation fee. We offer a 40km radius from any of our 5 locations (Arva (London), Exeter, Lucan, Seaforth, and Zurich). Any mileage beyond the included 40km will be charged a rate of $2.50/km (one way travel only).

Potential Additional Transportation Fees

$150 - If transport requires more than one person, additional fee charged per person required
$150 - If transport occurs outside Mon-Fri, 9-5 business hours
