At University Hospital, London, Ontario, on Monday, March 15, 2010, Marinus Cornelis “Morris” Vermunt of Zurich, passed away in his 84th year. Beloved husband of Maria Sullivan of Zurich and the late Joanna Vermunt (1989). Dear father of Liz (Gary) Masse of Zurich, Joanne (Don 2005)Boyes of Grand Bend, Walter (Brenda) Vermunt of R. R. 2 Zurich, Mary Ann (Randy) Craner of Zurich, Marg (Rick) Gingerich of Zurich, Joe (Laurie) Vermunt of R.R. 2 Zurich and stepfather of Simone Sharrow. Loving grandfather of 19 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 3 stepgrandchildren and 7 stepgreat grandchildren. Dear brother of Bernard and Kees and step brother of Martinus, Marinus, Catherine, Andre, Maria, Johanna and Anna. Predeceased by his eldest son Francis (1979) and one brother John and stepson Joe Sharrow.
Visitation in the J. M. McBeath Funeral Home, 49 Goshen St. N., Zurich on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 19, 2010 at 11 a.m. in St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church St. Joseph, Ont. Fr. Peter Keller celebrant. Interment St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery. Parish Prayers will be said on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of one’s choice.
