Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at South Huron Hospital, Exeter on Monday, March 16, 2026 at the age of 82. Survived by his sister Rita Henry (Chris), sister-in-law Judy Fischer, nieces Jenny (Steve) Jones, Jody (Mike) Fletcher, Anita (Kevin) Hollands, nephew Ron Cybulskie and many great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Oliver and Edith (Henderson) Henry, brothers Allen Henry, and Keith Henry, and sister Joyce Hyde.
Ike was a man who lived on his own terms – steady, resilient and never afraid to speak his mind. Whether through his work, his humour or the way he showed up when it mattered most. He was deeply passionate about stock car racing, both as a participant and a proud Delaware Speedway champion. A dedicated auto shop owner and truck driver, he had a natural talent and love for all things mechanical. Ike also enjoyed boating and travelling, embracing every opportunity for adventure. A devoted fan of Dale Earnhardt Sr., he especially cherished weekends spent at the racetrack, surrounded by the excitement of the sport he loved.
Ike will be remembered for his sharp wit, his independence and the way he could make even ordinary moments memorable.

A celebration of Ike’s life will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 456 Main Street South, Exeter on Monday, March 23rd from 2 – 4 PM. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
Donations to South Huron Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

I am sadden to hear of Ike’s passing. I was lucky to meet him 40 years ago thur a mutual Friend Gord. We shred many good times with him. Ike loved his golf, as I know, he beat me many times at the Fox and many other courss. he could be course, but we had a good relationship. I wish to offer my condolences to Ike’s family. I played hockey with Ike for 15 years and also golfed numerous times with him. He always had many stories to share from his racing experience to his travels while in the trucking business. In my early years playing with him there was always someone who would make the train sound as Ike made his rush down the ice. Even though his health was failing he still made the trip to Ilderton to play with the boys. RIP Ike you will be missed

I worked a lot of projects with him We would argue and torment each other constantly, always laughing. We had numerous fishing trips together, too many laughs always . Both of her beagles, first Queenie and then Kiki would never pass Ike’s house without a treat and he was always generous to any dog that got to know this kind man always had a treat for them.

Ike and I played hockey together for the past 17 years in Ilderton… We were the two old guys and we bonded well… The last couple of years we played a lot of golf together at least every couple of weeks. Ike would play every day if someone wanted to join him…. he would not let anyone drive the cart, that was his job… you could tell family & friends meant so much to him…so sad to see his health struggles in the past year but he sure fought the good fight.

I have known Ike since we were around the age of 17 & 18 when he first started dating Sheila. He was quite the character. All the nieces and nephews thought he was the greatest thing since sliced bread.

We played hockey with Ike in Ilderton with a group of retirees every winter Monday and Thursday morning for the 15 or more years. In the early days he used to love rushing down the ice from his defense position much like a freight train. In more recent years he slowed down a fair bit – as do we all – but Ike, stubborn as he was, refused to let anything stop him from coming out. We last saw him on the ice as recently as December when you could tell he was pretty sick. He also would almost never miss our summer golf dates. Ike, you were a great part of our group. We will miss you.
