Born in Concord, Ontario, Brenda Jane Hay lived a quiet life defined by creativity, family devotion, and an enduring kindness that touched all who knew her. Her gentle spirit and warm smile made her a beloved aunt, sister, daughter, and friend.
Brenda will be lovingly remembered by her nephews Charlie (Diana), and Michael (Ryley), of Calgary, Alberta; and by her great-nephews and nieces Kyle (Chelsea) of Nanaimo, BC, and Jordyn and Mason of Calgary, AB. Her presence was a cherished constant in their lives, offering both love and support.
She was predeceased by her nephew Eric of Nanaimo, sisters Gwendolyn (Paul) Hunt of Calgary and Marilyn Hay of Concord, as well as her parents Charles and Lelia Hay, with whom Brenda shared a close and caring bond. One of her greatest joys was doing craft shows alongside her mother, a pastime filled with laughter, handmade treasures, and shared memories. Brenda also found delight in cross-stitch embroidery, pouring heart and patience into each stitch, crafting gifts that held meaning beyond thread and cloth.
Her life was full of moments that mattered. She will be remembered not by calendar marks, but by the lasting imprint she left in the lives of those who loved her.
Her memory will forever be stitched into the hearts of her family and friends.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at 3 PM at the Bluewater Bronson Line Public Cemetery, 72587 Bronson Line, Zurich. Haskett Funeral Home, EXETER entrusted with arrangements.

We have corresponded for all these years with letters, cards and in recent years phone calls. I will truly miss our communications. To all who knew and loved Brenda, we send our Heartfelt Condolences.
I remember Mrs. Verna Hay telling me that Brenda was moving to Lorne Crescent and would be in my class at Hensall Public School. That would be about 60years ago.
Over the years, Brenda and I have had meaningful chats in the Medical Centre waiting room, on King St. or at the post office. Sometimes she’d be in ‘the Cozy’ with her devoted neighbour ladies, after their morning walks. We chatted about our most recent craft projects, the weather, family, etc.
It’s constant folks like Brenda that have woven the tapestry of our ‘wee home town/village’. She will be remembered…she will be missed.

Dear family and friends of Brenda,
Saddened to read of her passing. Seems like a month ago I was glad to see her walking on main street in Hensall. It was great that about two months ago we stopped and talked together on our way from the post office. Remembering with great fondness this gentle soul that worked with many of us for years at Fleck Manufacturing. May God’s peace console you.
