Suddenly, at his late residence on Friday, September 28, 2007  Robert (Mic) McFarland of London in his 58th year. Companion of Donna Davies. Dear father of Regan McFarland of London. Dear brother of Bill McFarland of Stoney Creek, Jane and Bob Scott of Ilderton and Keith and Kathy McFarland of Lucan. Mic will be missed by many family and friends.  Cremation.  A private graveside service will be held at St. John’s Cemetery, Arva.  Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. James (Jim) William Chappell

Suddenly, at his late residence on Friday, September 28, 2007 James (Jim) William Chappell of London and formerly of Ilderton, Lucan and British Columbia in his 71st year.  Beloved husband of Betty Lou (Skinner) Chappell.    Dear father of Brad and Sandra Chappell of Richmond, B.C. and Jim and Kim Cochrane of London. Dear grandfather of Matthew and Michael Chappell and Brooke-Lynn Cochrane. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Gerald and Simone Chappell of Agassiz, B.C., Clare and Laurie Skinner of Palm Beach, Florida and Ted Skinner of London.  Predeceased by his daughter Tracy Dawn Cochrane (1972).  At Jim’s request, his body has been donated to medical science at the University of Western Ontario.  Private family arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.  Arrangements entrusted to Haskett Funeral Home, Lucan, 519-227-4211.

Dear grandfather of 17 and great-grandfather of 9. Esther Sarah Rau

Peacefully, at South Huron Hospital, Exeter on Thursday, September 20, 2007 Esther Sarah (Duffy) Rau of Exeter and formerly of St. Joseph in her 90th year.  Beloved wife of the late H. Alvin Rau (1972).  Loving mother of Pamela and Tony De Jong of Exeter.  Proud and loving grandmother of Toni De Jong and Sean Thomas of Goderich, Dawn De Jong of Scarborough and Christopher De Jong of Exeter.  Dear sister of Rita Manley of Stratford and Bob and Ruth Duffy of Dublin.  Predeceased by her brother Louis Duffy and sisters Mary O’Brien and Vera Murray.  Esther touched many lives in her life as a teacher.  She started her teaching career at the one room school, SS #1 Stanley in 1937 at the young age of 20.  Her students knew her as a wonderful teacher but a very strict one.  After a brief retirement, Esther was hired to be principal at St. Damien School in Grand Bend.  When the school was closed, she came to Precious Blood School in Exeter where she taught until 1979.  She felt great pride in her students and their accomplishments and was always happy to meet with former students anywhere she went.  Friends may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 370 William Street, 1 west of Main, Exeter on Friday 3-5 and 7-9 PM.  The Funeral Mass will be held at Precious Blood Church, 200 Sanders Street West, Exeter on Saturday, September 22nd at 10 AM with Father Ray Lawhead celebrant.  Interment St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery, St. Joseph.  Donations to the Exeter Villa, South Huron Hospital or the Precious Blood Building Fund would be appreciated by the family.  Prayers will be said in the funeral home Friday evening at 8 PM.

At Chelsey Park Nursing Home, London on Friday, September 14, 2007 Jacoba (Kloosterman) Plantinga in her 89th year.  Beloved wife of the late Peter Plantinga (2005).  Dear mother of Peter and Rosemary Plantinga of Scarborough, Dick and Yvonne Plantinga of RR 1 Arva, John and April Plantinga of Three Oaks, Michigan, George and Judy Plantinga of Michigan City, Indiana, Henny Parker of Exeter and Renny and Donald Roach of Brampton.  Also survived by 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.  Dear sister of Akke van der Zee of The Netherlands.  Predeceased by 1 brother, 2 sisters and a son-in-law Doug Parker (August 2007).  Friends may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 370 William Street, 1 west of Main, Exeter one hour prior to the funeral service which will be held on Monday, September 17th at 11 AM with Pastor Scott Stein officiating. Beloved husband and best friend of Verdun (Wells) Lindenfield for 72 years.  Dear father of Bev and Norma Lindenfield of Exeter and Ed and Marlene Lindenfield of Dashwood. Dear grandfather of Jeff and Anne and John, and Monica and Mark. Loving great-grandfather of Kurtis, Jason, Tina, Devon, Shayne, J.J., Gregory, James and Jeff. Dear brother and bother-in-law of Arnold and Verlyn Lindenfield of Exeter. Predeceased by his sisters Avis Cudmore and Lula Floody and his brother Alvin Lindenfield.  Jake will be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews. Hodgins of Lucan in his 83rd year.  Beloved son of the late Ward and Laura (Haskett) Hodgins.  Dear brother of Alice Hodgson of Lucan and Muriel Hodgins of Toronto.  Victor will also be remembered by a number of special cousins, nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by his sister Jean and her husband Ralph Ainsley, brothers Murray Hodgins and his wife Iva, Emerson Hodgins and his wives Doris and Marie, Bruce Hodgins, Arthur Hodgins and his wife Jean and brother-in-law Murray Hodgson.  Vic received pleasure from the successes of the many young people passing through the Centralia College of Agricultural Technology.  Friends may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, Lucan one hour prior to the memorial service which will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2007 at 11 AM with Rev.
