Suddenly at his late residence in Granton, on Sunday, October 23, 2005 Valbert (Val) C. Middleton in his 81st year. Beloved husband of the late Shirley (Pratt) Middleton (2001). Dear father of Linda and Don Clipperton and Charlene and Brian Knapman all of London and Carol, Fred and Dan Middleton all of Granton. Dear grandfather of Jamie and Teresa Clipperton, Shane and Shari Clipperton and Timmy Clipperton; Derek Middleton; and Lacey and Kyle Knapman and great-grandfather of Travis, Dustin, Katie and Sam Clipperton. Also survived by sisters Laurette and Jessie and brothers Marvin, Lyle and Glen. Special friend of Bonnie and Ken Lambourn. Predeceased by a daughter Sharon, sisters Viola and Pearl and brothers Gerald, Delbert, Robert and Bill. Friends may call at the C. Haskett and Son Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, Lucan on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM where the funeral service will be held on  Wednesday, October 26th  at 11 AM with Rev. Douglas Story officiating. Interment Woodland Cemetery, London. Donations to Parkwood Hospital Foundation for Veterans would be appreciated by the family. There will be a masonic service in the funeral home on Tuesday evening  at 8:30 PM under the auspices of Granton Lodge # 483 A.F. & A. M.

Mary Alice (Harrison) Scott

At Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital on Wednesday, October 19, 2005 Mary A. (Harrison) Scott of Lucan in her 92nd year.  Beloved wife of the late Wilmer E. (Scotty) Scott (2003).  Dear mother of Janet and Jack Heaman of Ailsa Craig, Jim and Audrey Scott, Judy and Harry Bond and Brenda and Bob Smith all of Lucan, Nancey and Sam Taylor of Swift Current, Saskatchewan and Betty Scott of London. Also survived by 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.  Dear sister-in-law of Doris Harrison of Aylmer and Lloyd Elgie of London.  Predeceased by brothers Fred, Jack and George Harrison and sisters Elizabeth Phillips, Margaret Gilmour, Irene Leitch, Barbara Faulkner, Beryl Shipley and Dorothy Elgie.  Mary was a life member of the Clandeboye Women’s Institute.  Friends may call at the C. Haskett and Son Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, Lucan on Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM where the funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 22nd  at 11 AM with Rev. Kathy Wreford officiating.  Interment St. James Cemetery.  Donations to Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation or the Easter Seal Society would be appreciated by the family.  

William Evan Sims

Suddenly on October 14, 2005, Evan Sims of Exeter and formerly of Hurondale in his 78th year.  Beloved husband of Edna (Bayley) Sims for 52 years.  Loving father of Lori Sims and her husband Paul D’Auvergne of Oakville, Jane Sims and her husband Chris Harvey of London, and Bob Sims of Exeter and his friend Brenda Siemon of Dublin.  Predeceased by his son Steven (2002).  Dear grandpa of Trevor and Calvin Sims of Stratford, William and Emma Harvey of London and James Siemon of Brodhagen.  Dear brother of Audrey Bentley of Exeter.  Lovingly remembered by Lisa Pollock of Toronto and her children Lucas and Jaimie.  Predeceased by his mother Gladys Sims (2005), his father William Sims (1959) and sister Labelle Schmetzer (2004).  Born William Evan Sims on December 27, 1927 in Exeter, Evan lived almost all his life on a family farm at Hurondale in Usborne Township.  He loved farming and for 20 years was a custodian at South Huron District High School.  He cherished above all else, his family and his many friends.  Friends may call at the Hopper Hockey Funeral Home, 370 William Street, 1 west of Main, Exeter on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM.  The funeral service will be held at Trivitt Memorial Anglican Church, 264 Main Street, Exeter on Tuesday, October 18th at 11 AM with The Rev.
