Passed away peacefully at Craigwiel Gardens, Ailsa Craig on Sunday, June 1, 2025 at the age of 94. Beloved wife of late George Young (2017) for 65 years. Cherished mother of Diane Young, Sharon and Gord Blane, and Nancy Murray. Adored grandma of Jessica Davis; Rebecca and James McNaughton, Matthew Blane and Katie Pickering; Jennifer Murray and Jamie Vallely, and Mike and Kathleen and great-grandma of Jonathan, Tyler, Carmen; Quinn, Connor; Jocelyn, Vivian, and Callum. Dear sister-in-law of Gord and Jean Young. Fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sons-in-law Phil Davis (2020) and Ray Murray (2011), brother Robert (2010) and Jean (2025) Smith, siblings-in-law Evelyn (1975) and Bob (1988) Coughlin and her parents Chester (1991) and Bertha (1990) (Hobbs) Smith.
Mary was a proud member of the Lucan Ladies Bowling League, where she shared many laughs and lasting friendships over the years. She worked alongside her beloved husband George at Youngโs Clothing Store for many years, later continuing her working life at Nevin Motors. A familiar face at community dances or local horse races, Mary often accompanied George, sharing their love for dancing and his love for the sport. She had a passion for shopping and found great joy in browsing for the perfect find. Above all, Mary cherished her role as a devoted babysitter to her grandchildren, treasuring every moment spent with them especially when watching their baseball and hockey games and later spending time with her great-grandchildren, who brought her endless joy and love.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Craigwiel Gardens for the care and compassion provided to Mary during her stay.
Cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date at St. James Cemetery, Clandeboye.
Donations to Villages United Church โ Granton would be appreciated by the family.

Sharon and family,
Always enjoyed my visits with your Mom. Of course the family was always our main topic of conversation and quite often l arrived when Mary was talking with one daughter or the other and so they were cut short for her to be the perfect host. I think she had you all tracked as she always was aware of where you were and what was happening in your lives. May your memories shared together with Mom bring a warm contentment of peace to each of your hearts.
