XERRI: It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Florence Anne Xerri (nee Basarab) formerly of Toronto and Bolton, Ontario and Gozo, Malta, in her 92nd year, at Craigwiel Gardens Long Term Care Home, Ailsa Craig, Ontario on Saturday March 4, 2023. Beloved wife of Angelo Lawrence Xerri for 66 years. Most loved mother of Regina Xerri (Greg Marchand); cherished grandmother of Kristina Vieth (Eric) and Mary-Catharine Freeman; treasured great-grandmother of Wilhelm, Charlotte and Philip Vieth and dear sister of Bernice Pedreschi. She will be missed by her sisters-in-law Teresa and her husband Manuel Mizzi and Carmen Xerri and brother-in-law Paul Xerri and his wife Nancy. Fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews Carmen, Sylvia, Joanne, Michelle, Phyllis, Margaret, Josephine, Sonia, Anthony, Sammy, Joseph and their families. Predeceased by her parents Fred and Mary Basarab, brothers-in-law Joseph Xerri and Peter Pedreschi, sister-in-law Mary and her husband Tony Vella. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Fr. Tony Laforet at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, (337 Ontario St. South) Grand Bend, Ontario on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation at the church at 10:00 a.m. A reception will follow the Mass in the adjoining parish hall. Interment will be at the Immaculate Conception of Our Lady Cemetery, Gozo, Malta at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood, Ontario. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to all the staff at Craigwiel Gardens Long Term Care Home for their care and compassion shown to Florence and her family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
