WILSON: Geraldine (Ryan) of Seaforth

June 10, 2026 By Haskett Funeral Homes Leave A Condolence

WILSON: Geraldine (Ryan) of Seaforth

“Love bears all things, endures all things. Love never ends.”

Geraldine Wilson of Seaforth, gently left this life, surrounded by her family, on Monday, June 8, 2026. She was in her 99th year. She was the beloved wife of Ewart Wilson (2004), and the dearly loved mother of John and Michelle Wilson, Carolyn Wilson and Paul Carolan, Sharon and Jeff Beuermann, and Ann and Mike Kelly. She was the beloved grandmother of Ryan and Ashley Wilson, Jason Wilson, Angela and Jason Agnew, Erica Beuermann, James and Joslyn Beuermann, Sean Kelly and Tyra Young, and Patrick Kelly. She was the dearest “Little Grandma” to Kinsley, Adalyn, and Sullivan Wilson, Melilah Wilson, Jack and Lillian Agnew, Audrey McRae, and Aliyah and Ryan Kelly. Geraldine was dearly loved and is survived by her brother Patrick Ryan of Mitchell, and her nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by her sister-in-law Joyce Braecker of Seaforth and will be fondly remembered by the extended Wilson and Ryan families.  Geraldine was predeceased by her brothers, sisters and in-laws Maurice and Jean Ryan, Mary Margaret and John Maloney, Theresa and George Simpson, Patricia and Edward Tozer, Alice Ryan, Jack and Betty Ryan, Marie Ryan, Edna Wilson, Ann and Chip Wood, and Bruno Braecker.

Geraldine lived a life filled with grace, profound faith, and a gentle and generous spirit. She will be remembered for the deep love she shared with her family, and her devotion to her parish and her community. Throughout her life, Geraldine was a faithful member of St. James Parish, Seaforth, and was its longest living member. She was an active member of the St. James Catholic Women’s League for over 60 years, and the Seaforth Hospital Auxiliary for over 50 years.

She was born in Dublin, Ontario in 1928 to Mary Kathleen and Patrick Ryan. As a young woman, she attended Dublin Continuation School and went on to the Stratford Normal School, where she graduated in 1947 and then began her teaching career. She taught for the Waterloo Catholic District School Board, as well as the Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board.

With her husband Ewart, she took great pride in Silvercreek Farm, which has been in the Wilson family for four generations. She lived in her home on the farm until her passing.

Visitation will be held at St. James Catholic Church, 22 Victoria Street, SEAFORTH on Friday, June 12th from 4 – 6 and 7 – 9 PM with prayers at 8:30 PM.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. James Catholic Church on Saturday, June 13th at 11:00 AM, with Father Innocent Ibeth presiding. Interment will take place at St. James Cemetery, Seaforth.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance, the Seaforth Lions Park and Pool, or St. James Catholic Church, Seaforth.
