William S. “Red” Haryett

Peacefully, with his family by his side, after a brief illness, at LHSC-University Hospital, London on Sunday, July 8, 2012 of London and formerly of Exeter in his 86th year. Predeceased by his loving wife of 55 years Marlene (Kelly) Haryett (2011). Red is survived by his three children Sandi, Debbie and Mike (Pam) and sister Linda (Ed) Bisson. Loving grandpa of David, Desiree, Clarence, Jayden; Michael, David, Shalyse; Amanda and Alicia (Shorty). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his mom Margaret, dad Ernest and brother Roy.

Bill was an employee at Northern Telecom for 26 years. Special thanks to the 4th floor Medicine Staff at University Hospital for their care and kindness during this very difficult time. A very special thanks to Kat.

Friends may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, Lucan on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM, where the complete funeral service will be held on Friday, July 13th at 11:30 AM. Cremation.

Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by the family.

    I am sorry to hear about the loss of a great man , I miss our Thursday morning coffee breaks and our talks on the phone after he moved to London.Reds words of wisdom for myself and my children were always taken to heart and appreciated.He was a dedicated family man and he will be missed by all that new him.

    We will always remember Red as a very caring individual who had a kind word for everyone he came in contact with. We admired him greatly for the love and dedication that he showed for his wife Marlene during her final years at the Villa. He will be missed.

    It is with great sadness I can-not be with my family to celebrate our Dads life
    I will always remember the love and dedication my father had in regards to my Mom Marlyne
    he was amazing to be with her everyday although she was not aware
    I will miss his voice saying……”hell-o Whitehorse” every week when I called him just to say hi
    He will be missed.

    Uncle Red was always a cheer to see and be around. Seeing these pictures here reminds me of how much I’ll miss him and Aunt Marlene. They never missed the opportunity to support grandpa in his playful hazing of us. My condolences to his family at this time. Darcy

    To Mike, Debbie and Sandra and families:
    Remember I had a dream about your Mother last year. I also had a dream about your Father. He showed me how he moved down Richmond Street from another place (probably Exeter) and then up Richmond street. I suspect that this may have been when he was going to the hospital. He told me he was going home.

    My thoughts are with you; my sons and I will be donating to the Heart and Stroke fund.

    My father Richard Rennie worked with Red at northern.I remember My dad Helping Red build a deck on the house on toulon cres.My brother Richard and I used to Play with Mike.I remember Red as allways with a big smile.I remember going to A&W with Red and my Dad .

    The residents at Towerview in Exeter send their most sincere condolences to Red’s family at the time of his death. He lived among us for many months and was considered a fine gentleman and a quiet friend.

    I was saddened to read of Red’s passing. I have missed him at the Villa. He was such a big part of the place. I know he was happy to move to London to be near you, Mike. Although you will no doubt miss him, take comfort in knowing he is now reunited with his beloved Marene.
