Passed away peacefully at Craigwiel Gardens, Ailsa Craig with her family by her side on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at the age of 81. Beloved wife of the late Kenneth Wildfong (1998) for almost 30 years. Cherished mother of Rick and Darlene Forrest. Adored grandmother of Brittney (Brandon) Babbage, Ritchie (Maddy) Forrest. And great-grandmother of Tayton, Jaxton, Canaon; Macey, Hallie, Ryleigh, and Cameryn. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Jim and Anne Finlay, Mary McBride, and Carol Finlay. Fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her daughter Donna Forrest (1980), son Dennis Forrest (1979), Sibling and their spouses, John Finlay, Elizabeth and Harold Hendricks, Margie and Neil Stephenson, and John McBride.
Jane was a hardworking and independent woman who faced life’s challenges with strength and determination. She began her working years at the Berry Patch in Bayfield before later serving as a member of the cleaning staff at Queensway Nursing Home and Clinton Hospital. In her quieter moments, Jane enjoyed the comfort and creativity of quilting and knitting. Strong-willed and resilient, she will be remembered for her independence, perseverance, and the care she put into all that she did.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Craigwiel Gardens for the care and compassion provide to Jane and her family during her time there.
Cremation has taken place. A private graveside service for immediate family will be held at a later date at Clinton Cemetery.
Donations to Craigwiel Gardens Nursing Home would be appreciated by the family.
