After a recent unexpected illness, Janet passed away peacefully at South Huron Hospital with her family by her side on Monday, June 22, 2026 at the age of 69. Cherished wife of Gerald Weido for 45 years. Loving mom of Angela and Scott Riddell, Amy and Jamie Miles, and Jeff and Michelle Weido. Proud grandma of Avery, Jordan; Dexden, Bennett, Gavin; and Rowan. Sister and sister-in-law of the late Paul Kerslake (2021), Karen and Bob Snow, Steve Kerslake, Craig Kerslake and Wendy Becker, Ray Weido and Lynn Turner, and Catherine and the late Richard Heimpel (2023). Fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews. Beloved daughter-in-law of Elaine and the late Glenn Weido. Predeceased by her parents Elwyn and Wilma (Veal) Kerslake.

Family was at the heart of Janet’s life, and nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her grandchildren. She loved a good shopping trip and was always on the lookout for a bargain, especially when buying for others. A natural people person, Janet loved to socialize and had a remarkable ability to make connections. Add in her love of country music, and you could usually find Janet with a smile on her face, sharing stories and enjoying the company of others.

The family wishes to thank the staff at South Huron Hospital, London Health Sciences Centre, and St. Joseph’s Healthcare. A special thank you to Dr. Jadd and nurse Theresa for going above and beyond with their kindness, compassion, and support for Janet and her family during her final days.

As per Janet’s wishes, a private family funeral service will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, Exeter. Interment Exeter Cemetery.
