VLEMMIX: Peacefully at South Huron Hospital, Exeter on Tuesday, October 15, 2013, Thomas “Tom” Franciscus Vlemmix of Grand Bend, age 81. Beloved husband of Grada Mary (VanGeffen) Vlemmix. Loved father and father-in-law of Ray (Rose) Vlemmix of RR1 Grand Bend, Helen (Tony) Trecapelli of Brantford and Tim (Meribeth) Vlemmix of Seaforth. Cherished grandpa of Lydia and Thomas Trecapelli. Dear brother and brother-in-law of John Vlemmix of Ingersoll, Anna (Pete) Kurstjens of London, Toni (Bill) Vandenberk, Coby (Arnold) Vandenboomen, Jean (Luke) Mommersteeg all of Grand Bend. Tom will be missed by his many nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by his parents Marinus and Johanna (Vaneyk) Vlemmix, daughter Helen Mary Vlemmix (1963-1964), brother and sister-in-law Martin (Jean) Vlemmix, sister and brother-in-law Mary (Peter) Mennen and sister-in-law Lisa Vlemmix. Resting at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood, with visitation on Thursday, October 17, 2013 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Parish prayers being offered at 8:15 p.m., and Alhambra prayers at 8:45 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, Grand Bend on Friday, October 18, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. The Rev. Fr. Tony Laforet Celebrant. Interment will be in Pinery Cemetery, Grand Bend. Tom was a vegetable farmer and a fairway grounds keeper on the little red mower at Oakwood Golf Course for 24 years. If desired, memorial donations (payable by cheque) to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
