After a courageous battle with cancer, Becky passed away peacefully with her family by her side on December 7, 2025 at the age of 49. Cherished wife of Chris Vidler of Lucan for over 22 years. Proud and loving mother of Carson and Josselyn. Beloved daughter of Doug and Chris Dunnell of Lucan and daughter-in-law of Ed and Gail Vidler of Sarnia. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Peggy and David Landers of Lucan, Patty and John Soer of Ilderton, Pam and Ali Abbas Akl of Bothwell, and Shawn and Leanne Vidler of Sarnia. Crazy Auntie Becky of Michaela (Adam), and Keeley Landers; Nathan, Adam, Joshua, and Matthew Soer; Khalil, and Salwa Abbas Akl; and Paige, and Ryan Vidler.
Becky was as strong in spirit as she was in character, known for her remarkable work ethic on the farm, in the factory and around the house. She could outwork most anyone—men included—and did so with quiet determination and a smile that made even the hardest work feel fun.
For all that strength, she carried a deeply loving spirit that children were naturally drawn to. She was cherished by her nieces and nephews, by the kids she babysat, and by any child lucky enough to cross her path. But the luckiest of all were Josselyn and Carson, who had the privilege of calling her Mom. Nothing brought Becky more joy than cheering them on, proudly watching from the stands as their biggest supporter in every possible way.
Although she liked to say she was shy, anyone who knew her would disagree—Becky had a rare gift for lighting up every room she walked into. Her quick wit, warmth, and kindness brought laughter and comfort to everyone around her.
Above all, Becky’s life was shaped by her unwavering devotion and deep love for her family.
A celebration of Becky’s life will be held at the Lucan Community Centre, 263 Main Street, LUCAN (multi-purpose hall) on Sunday, December 14th from 1-4 PM. Words of remembrance will be held at 2PM. Cremation has taken place. Private family interment St. James Cemetery, Clandeboye.
Donations to Ovarian Cancer Canada would be appreciated by the family.

I will always remember Becky’s most contagious laugh and whenever she came in a room, everyone would be in tears smiling and laughing at her laugh…sometimes not knowing exactly what the whole funny was about.
Becky and I were high school friends, and we played baseball together, went to Junior Farmer dances together, and I fondly remember May 24 weekends each year camping at the KOA in Port Huron.
I am so lucky to have known Bec and call her my friend. Over the last few years, we lost touch up until a few summers ago when we saw each other at the Lucan Library. We laughed and chatted for hours, caught up on how our kids, work, and life was and apparently were a little too loud for the staff, of course getting ‘shhhhh’ a few times.
We are sending our strength, our hugs, and love to you all. I know I was so blessed to have been a part of Becky’s fun adventures; I will cherish those memories forever. Rest in the sweetest peace Bec.
