VERHOOG: Mary (Hooyer) of Exeter

Mary Verhoog, age 84, Exeter went to be with her Lord surrounded by her family on October 27, 2017. Born March 17, 1933, Tillsonburg to John & Nellie Hooyer. Married on April 24, 1953, Whitby to John Verhoog. She wrote devotionals for Words of Hope, corresponded with prison inmates and always an active church member. She was a devoted wife, sacrificial mother, loving grandmother & great grandmother and cherished friend to many. She is survived by her beloved husband, John of 64 years; nine children, Nellie Verhoog, Tom Verhoog (Susan), Garry Verhoog (Teresa), Marina Babcock (Paul), John Verhoog (Shelley), Charlie Verhoog (Karen), Maryann Scheele (David), Ben Verhoog (Maria), and Joyann Kruizinga (Robert), 38 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; sister Josie McLean (John) and brother Ben Hooyer (Nellie).

Maryโ€™s greatest joy was knowing her children loved her Savior as much as she did. She hopes you know this too. โ€œAll things work together for good for those who are called according to his purpose.โ€ Rm 8:28

Friends may call at the Exeter Christian Reformed Church, 330 Huron Street West, Exeter on Monday 2-4 and 7-9.  A celebration of the love of God in Maryโ€™s life will take place on Tuesday, October 31st at 11 AM with Pastor Kevin teBrake officiating.  Interment Exeter Cemetery. Haskett Funeral Home, Exeter (519-235-1220) entrusted with arrangements.

Memorial Tree

Each year we hold a tree dedication ceremony at Morrison Dam in Exeter. We purchase a tree to be planted in memory of the lives lost from the previous year.

Our Service Coverage Area

Service AreaWe are always willing to go where called upon but this image shows a visual of the communities that our included in our initial transportation fee. We offer a 40km radius from any of our 5 locations (Arva (London), Exeter, Lucan, Seaforth, and Zurich). Any mileage beyond the included 40km will be charged a rate of $2.50/km (one way travel only).

Potential Additional Transportation Fees

$150 - If transport requires more than one person, additional fee charged per person required
$150 - If transport occurs outside Mon-Fri, 9-5 business hours
