Suddenly at her late residence on Monday, September 26, 2005 Veda C. (Hodgins) Smith of Lucan and formerly of Grand Bend and London in her 78th year. Beloved wife of the late Ralph Smith (1999). Dear mother of Betty and Brad Sterling of Gibsons, B.C., Sharon and Bob Barnett of Port Franks, Fred and Brenda Smith of Lucan, Carol and Scott Furtah of Wallaceburg and Cathy and Kevin Carter of Lucan. Dear grandmother of Tracey and Larry, Chris and Melanie; Corey, Shawn, Trevor and Kyle; Courtney; and Matthew and great-grandmother of Cody, Shawna and Julie. Special niece of Marion Thompson of McGillivray Township. Predeceased by her parents Geordie and Florence Hodgins, a grandson Jeff and a brother Gerald Hodgins. Friends may call at the C. Haskett and Son Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, Lucan on Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM where the funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 29th at 11AM with Rev. Sue McCullough officiating. Interment St. James Cemetery, Clandeboye. Donations to the Arthritis Society or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
