Henry passed away unexpectedly doing what he loved, farming, on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at the age of 67. Cherished husband of Valerie (Matthews) Van Rooy for 43 years. Loving dad of Corey and Holly Van Rooy, and Kurtis Van Rooy and Chantel Kelders. Proud grandpa of Jackson Van Rooy. Beloved son-in-law of Doreen Matthews. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Mary and Mike Kochanowski, Bernie and Steve Reaburn, Joe and Lynn Van Rooy, Diane and Mark Lalonde, Frankie and Paul Ziegler, Teresa and Mark Driver, and Paul and Holly Van Rooy; Judy and John Hickey, Linda and Ray McNichol, Roger and Kendra Matthews, and Ken Herman. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents John and Jean (Van Dyke) Van Rooy, his father-in-law Ralph Matthews, and sister-in-law Lori Herman.
A lifelong farmer, Henry found his greatest satisfaction tending the land and caring for his cattle. While farming was his passion, nothing meant more to him than the family he loved so deeply.
Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 456 Main Street South, EXETER on Wednesday, July 29th from 2 โ 3:30 PM, where Henryโs memorial service will be held at 4 PM.
