VAN ROMPAEY: Theo “Ted” Jan

VAN ROMPAEY:  Peacefully, at Sprucedale Care Centre, Strathroy, on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, Theo “Ted” Jan Van Rompaey, formerly of Ailsa Craig and Dashwood, in his 80th year.  Husband of Mary Ethel (Rotteau) Van Rompaey of Rodney.  Loved father and father-in-law of Anita and Dave Clarke of Squamish, BC., Kathy and Murray Curtis of Glendon, AB., Sharmaine Hayter of Strathroy, Shannon Shepley of London, Shane Van Rompaey of Rodney.  Cherished Papa of Ashley, Amanda, Crystal, Ryan, Brianna, Evan, Liam, Darian, Connor, Dominik and Paisley.  Treasured great-grandpa of Ethan and Alina.  Dear brother and brother-in-law of Gladys Van Rompaey of Belgium, Annie Orban and David McFee of Grand Bend, Jim and Lori Rotteau of Exeter, Shawn and Carolyn Rotteau of New Brunswick, Violet and Ian Anderson of St. Thomas.  Remembered by his sons-in-law Mat Hayter and Matt Shepley and dear friend Victor Stellingwerff.  Also by his nieces and nephews Wim Van Rompaey and Roos, Ronny Van Romapey and Iris, Annita Van Rompaey and Wim all of Belgium, Julianna Kloss and Bob of Tillsonburg, Connie Orban of London and the Rotteau families.  Predeceased by his parents Florent Emiel Van Rompaey and Elisa Virginia (Ooms) (Van Rompaey) Huber, brother Gilbert Van Rompaey and nephew Danny Orban.  Resting at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood, with visitation on Friday, September 16, 2022 from 12 to 2 p.m., followed by the Funeral Service at 2 p.m.  Mr. Ervin Steinman Officiant.  Interment Pinery Cemetery, Grand Bend.  Ted owned and operated TJ’s Ornamental Iron Railings in Dashwood for many years.  He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting.  Ted also served with the Dashwood Fire Department for many years.  If desired, memorial donations (payable directly) to Canadian Spinal Research Organization or Spinal Cord Injury Ontario would be appreciated by the family.

Memorial Tree

Each year we hold a tree dedication ceremony at Morrison Dam in Exeter. We purchase a tree to be planted in memory of the lives lost from the previous year.

Our Service Coverage Area

Service AreaWe are always willing to go where called upon but this image shows a visual of the communities that our included in our initial transportation fee. We offer a 40km radius from any of our 5 locations (Arva (London), Exeter, Lucan, Seaforth, and Zurich). Any mileage beyond the included 40km will be charged a rate of $2.50/km (one way travel only).

Potential Additional Transportation Fees

$150 - If transport requires more than one person, additional fee charged per person required
$150 - If transport occurs outside Mon-Fri, 9-5 business hours
