Surrounded by the comfort of home and family, Marg passed away peacefully after her two year battle with cancer on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at the age of 82. She was dearly loved by Paul Turnbull for 60 years. Cherished Mom of Bonnie (Brian Martin), and Wanda (Graeme Silvester). Adored “Ma” of Mackenzie (Taylor Richardson), Garrett (Michelle Martin), Veronica (Ryan Carruthers), and Nolan Silvester. She was also affectionately known as “Ma” to her great-grandbabies; Henley Richardson, and Miller Martin. Dear sister of Joanne (Tim Turnbull), Joe (Bonnie Hotson) and sister-in-law of Mary Kember, Carl (Lois Turnbull), Ross (Nancy Turnbull), Peter Warner, and Alec (Marlene Turnbull). Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Willis and Pearl Hotson, her siblings Marlyne (Gary McFalls), and John (Wendy Hotson) and her siblings-in-law Alan (Carol Turnbull), Tim Kember, Eric (Betty Turnbull), Esther Warner, and Edith Turnbull.
Marg was a woman of unwavering faith and prayer who loved deeply and cared generously for everyone she met. Building and nurturing relationships was always a top priority for her. She had a special gift for hospitality, joyfully welcoming friends and family into her home and delighting in gathering everyone together. Marg leaves behind a legacy of compassionate service, continually striving to care well for others and helping wherever she could.
Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 456 Main Street South, EXETER on Monday, May 11 from 5 – 8pm, where Marg’s funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 12 at 11am. A private family interment at Grand Bend Cemetery will follow at a later date.
