With her family by her side, Marie Louise (Harvey) Sweeney Gelinas passed away peacefully at Bluewater Rest Home, Zurich on Friday, May 7, 2010 in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of the late E. P. Mozart Gelinas (2001) and Victor Jerome Sweeney (1949). Dear mother of Jerome and Carmel Sweeney of Zurich, Sharon and Brian Sims of Port Alma, George and Marion Sweeney of Clinton, Mozart and Julie Gelinas of Listowel, Melissa and Neil Francis of Lucan, Marc and Cindy Gelinas of Dorchester and Martin and Cheryl Gelinas of Zurich. Loving grandmother of 23 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Dear sister and sister-in-law of George Harvey, Marie Gelinas, Yvonne Dietrich and Joan McCann. Predeceased by her daughters Linda Sweeney and Michele Gelinas, son-in-law Keva Silverstein, 4 brothers-in-law and 3 sisters-in-law. Marie was an active member of the St Boniface CWL, Zurich Golden Agers and the BWRH Auxillary for many years.
Visitation in the J. M. McBeath Funeral Home, 49 Goshen St. N, Zurich on Saturday from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 10, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the St. Boniface Roman Catholic Church. Fr. Peter Keller celebrant. Interment St. Boniface Cemetery. Parish prayers and CWL prayers will be said on Sunday at 6:45 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or St. Boniface Building Fund.
