Suddenly at Stratford General Hospital, on Friday, May 1, 2026 in her 75th year. Loving wife of Michael Staniforth for over 54 years. Cherished mother of Jason Staniforth (Rochelle) of St. Thomas, Amanda Staniforth of Lucan, and her adopted daughter Tomoko. Proud nana of Quinlan, Lou, and Ariadne. Dear sister of Edward Tyrrell, and sister-in-law of Steven Staniforth, Kevin Staniforth, Tammy Huey, and Danny Staniforth. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews and friend Louise Tyrrell.
Sharon will be remembered for her quiet courage and the warmth she brought to everyone around her. She found joy in the simple pleasures of lifeโspending time reading, crocheting, and creating beautiful crafts with care and patience. Her faith and church community were deeply important to her, guiding the way she lived and cared for others. As a nurse, Sharonโs compassion was evident in every interaction; she had a remarkable gift for making people feel comfortable, welcome, and truly cared for. She also cherished her time camping at Killarney Provincial Park, where she found peace in nature and created many treasured memories.
Visitation will be held at The Church at Nairn, 26459 Bear Creek Rd, Ailsa Craig, on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 from 12-1 PM where Sharonโs funeral service will follow at 1PM. Interment at The Church at Nairn Cemetery. Haskett Funeral Home, LUCAN entrusted with arrangements.
Donations to Nairn Mennonite would be appreciated by the family.

I had the privilege of living with Sharon when we were young. She had a beautiful warm and fun loving heart and we had a wonderful year together. I have such regret that we didnโt stay in touch over the many years since. Sending my condolences to her family and friends who will miss her terribly.

My sincere condolences to Mike, Jason, Rochelle, Amanda and family.
When Sharon and Mike moved in next door on the Roman Line, I knew from our first meeting how much Sharon loved Mike and her children. She always spoke kindly of them and was so proud of their achievements.
Sharon’s wise teachings will carry on to her grandchildren and beyond.
Peace and joy to you, Sharon.

Dear Mike, Amanda and Jason,
I am so sorry to hear of Sharon’s death and that she has been suffering with health issues for a number of years. May she rest in God’s love and peace.
When I was a pastor at Nairn Church, Sharon was an inspiration to me. I always appreciated her kindness and encouragement; her ability to think “outside the box.” Her love of children and nature influenced how we raised and schooled our children.
I will continue to remember Sharon and your family with love and appreciation.
Tomoko
I am so deeply sorry to hear of Sharonโs passing. She was such a special person in my life, and I will always be grateful for the kindness, warmth, and encouragement she gave me over the years.
It has always meant so much to me that she considered me her adopted daughter. I feel truly honored.
I will always remember how she welcomed me as part of her family, and how much she believed in me. That meant so much to me, and I will carry those memories with me always.
Thinking of Mike, Amanda, Jason, and the entire family during this difficult time. I wish I could be there with you.
