Passed away peacefully at the Exeter Villa on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at the age of 94. Cherished mother of Brenda Feeney. Beloved Nana of Brendan (Tara) Gaynor and Amanda-Lynn Feeney. Proud great-grandmother of Tyler Gaynor, Aubrey Gaynor, Ewan Gaynor, Norah Gaynor, Imogen Hughes, and Solveig Hughes. Predeceased by her husbands, Carl Gaynor and Borden Smyth; her sons, George Gaynor and Bruce Gaynor; her siblings and siblings-in-law, May and Elmer Archibald, Jeanette and Charles McKinnon, Walter Dean, Jim and Edith Dean, Janet and Allen McLeod, Annie Dean, Dan Dean, Shirley and Pearly Creamer, and Annabelle Gerrow; and her parents, James and Lillian Dean.
Mary was known for her love of dancing. Whether on the dance floor or among family and friends, she brought joy wherever she went. It is comforting to imagine her now dancing once again in her finest dress.
Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 456 Main Street South, EXETER, on Wednesday, June 24nd, at 9:30 -10:30 AM, where Mary’s memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM. A private family interment will be held at Exeter Cemetery.
Donations can be made to the Crediton and District Optimist Club and to the Exeter Legion Branch 167 in Mary’s memory
