SMITH, DENNIS: Peacefully, at Queensway Nursing Home, Hensall, Sunday, July 8, 2007, Dennis Sydney Smith, of Exeter, formerly of Zurich, Cape Coral, Florida and Burlington, age 88. Beloved husband of Margaret Annie (Braby) Smith of Exeter Villa. Loved father and father-in-law of Valerie and Robert Kirby, Don and Linda Smith, all of Fort Myers, FL. Dear grandfather of Kevin Kirby of Tallahassee, FL. Travis Kirby of Fort Myers, Dean Smith and fianceé Lisa of Rivers, Manitoba, Sherry and Ted Taft of Cape Coral and great-grandfather of Megan Smith, Hayden Smith, Erik Taft and Sean Taft. Also remembered by his nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by sisters Ethel McIlroy, Doris Batey and Olive Boswell. Resting at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood, with visitation Thursday, July 12, 2007 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. Mr. Bob Heywood officiating. Private interment White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Hamilton. If desired, memorial donations to the Emmanuel Baptist Church, Exeter or charity of choice would be appreciated. His faith in God led him to be involved in the Church in many aspects, including music, building and supporting the various Church communities he attended. Dennis was the founding member of the Christian Service Brigade, a Young Man’s Marching Band at Park Ave. Church, Burlington. He served with the Royal Canadian Air Force as an Aero Mechanic.
