SHAULE: Tyler of London

April 28, 2025 By Haskett Funeral Homes 113 Condolences

SHAULE: Tyler of London

March 15, 1981 – April 24, 2025

It is with deep sorrow and broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Tyler Shaule, who was tragically killed in a car accident outside of London, Ontario, on Thursday, April 24, 2025. Tyler was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and laughter.

Tyler was born in North Battleford, Saskatchewan and grew up in Lucan, Ontario, where his family were active members of Community Bible Church. His journey with Forest Cliff Camp began in his youth, starting as a camper and eventually leading to him becoming the chief executive officer. His leadership and passion for sharing the love of Jesus with the next generation led to the expansion of Forest Cliff Camps across Southwestern Ontario.

Tyler earned a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Education from Western University. He spent most of his teaching career at H.B. Beal Secondary School in London, where he was known for his dedication to his students and the strong relationships he built with his colleagues.

Tyler was a devoted husband and best friend to his wife Janet (married 2004) and a proud and dedicated father to their three sons, Owen, Theodore, and Elliott. His commitment to his family was evident in everything he did, from supporting his childrenโ€™s sports and robotics activities to embarking on adventures like canoeing trips and family road trips down south. Tyler and his family made their home in London, Ontario, where they are active members of Stoney Creek Baptist Church. His faith was central to his life and shaped the way he loved and served those around him.

Tylerโ€™s love for the outdoors, his infectious enthusiasm for Star Wars, and his love of the Toronto Blue Jays are just a few of the many things that made him uniquely Tyler. He was also an excellent cook who loved experimenting with food and feeding his loved ones. His generosity, kindness, and sense of humor touched the lives of many, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Tyler was predeceased by his mother, Jewell (Shortt) Shaule (1987), and by Joanna (McLeod) Shaule (2015), who was a loving mom to him as well. He is survived by his wife Janet (Webster), his sons Owen, Theodore, and Elliott, his father Darrell Shaule of Lucan, ON and his parents-in-law Allan and Kathy Webster of Brinsley, ON. Tyler will also be lovingly remembered by his siblings Brenda and Greg Makaroff (White Rock, BC), Barbara and Rocky Hoffman (Cupar, SK), Tim and Corrina Shaule (Edmonton, AB), Bev Shaule (West Lorne, ON), Bernice Shaule and Tim Collins (London, ON), Drew and Rebecca Shaule (St. Maryโ€™s, ON), and by his brothers- and sisters-in-law Lauren and Michael Medenblik (Chatham, ON) and Meredith and Devon Wagler (Kitchener, ON). He was a proud uncle to Shea, Robbie (deceased), Justin, Katrina, Brittany, Syanne, Tamara, Michael, Kiarah, Maddy, Keagan, Jaden, Riley, Skyeanne, Finn, William, Neve, Sutton, Kenneth, Lincoln, Karis, and Vera. Tyler was also a cherished friend to many, who felt like family to him.

Visitation will be held at Stoney Creek Baptist Church, 2225 Highbury Avenue North, LONDON on Saturday, May 3, from 2 โ€“ 5 PM, where Tylerโ€™s memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 4th at 2 PM. Cremation with private family interment Mars Hill Cemetery.

Stream the service live or at your convenience by visiting https://www.youtube.com/stoneycreekbaptistchurch

In lieu of flowers, donations to a Trust Fund for Tylerโ€™s children (cheques payable to Janet Shaule) or Forest Cliff Camp would be appreciated by the family.

Tyler will be remembered for his unwavering faith, his commitment to his family, his dedication to others, and the joy and laughter he brought to every room he entered. His legacy of love and service will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Janet I may not know you and your sons but like many Tyler was a blessing to me. My first memory of this son of God you called husband and dad I had was standing beside my wife who sought him out to encourage our grade niner at Beal a dozen years ago. He always impressed others a fellow who was bound to have been imperfect but what a presence. He shone brightly Saviourโ€™s great heart. May His love rest again with you! Until then we grieve such a profound loss.

Janet , Owen Theo and Elliott and all the family. I met you andTyler when you started Elliott at Stoneybrook. From day one his smile always brightened my day. I could tell how much he loved his family and always had time to talk to me. Recently, after your family grew up I was lucky enough to reconnect with Tyler at Theo’s baseball games as he played on the same team as my grandson Landon. I really enjoyed seeing him there and keeping in touch with the family. Theo your dad was always your biggest cheer leader and I hope you all keep those memories close to your heart. Janet when Tyler spoke of you it was always with love. Darryl you were a blessing when my mom passed and officiated her memoriam. I understood better then how the love of family and faith meant so much to Tyler and I hope you all find some peace knowing the amazing person he was and how he has positively impacted so many lives. I will cherish knowing he is in the arms of God and now you all have an Angel watching over you. Sending love and prayers.

    Dear Janet

I have been at a loss for words these past few days. We met when the Y first opened and we travelled through much of the kids growing for many years together. That parallel was not lost on me.

A very specific memory with Tyler and building camp has had a significant impact on the direction of my life and how I look at things in terms of optimism.

I am so sorry for what you are and have to manage with Tyler’s passing. There are many who would support in a heart beat if not even faster. The Brown family is one of those families.

Darrell, my heart breaks for you and your family. I only briefly met Tyler from Forest Cliff when my daughters attended and worked there. I know he loved the kids who went there and was dedicated to them and remember how you would light up when you talked about each of your children and grandchildren. Word are so inadequate to express our sympathy to you Janet and your boys in the loss of your beloved Tyler. Thoughts that have helped me through tough times:

God is too wise to be mistaken!
He is too good to be unkind.
    So when we don’t understand,
When we can’t see His Hand,
When we can’t trace His plan…..
    Trust His Heart!

Take heart my dear friends and know you CAN trust Him!
Remembering good days working with Tyler at FCC!

I am so saddened or hear of Tyler’s passing. He was one of my first counsellors at FCC and remained influential in my life during my time at FCC growing up as a camper and employee. He was a great man and while we know he is with the Lord, his presence will be missed.

To Darrell and the Shaule family,
I am so sorry for your loss.
I first met Tyler when he was 5 years old. He, and my son Mason, were classmates from kindergarten to grade 8. Tyler was a bright student and a great kid.
I met Tyler again a few years ago. It was special to relate to him as an adult.
He accomplished a lot in his short life. He will be deeply missed.
    Until we meet again โ€ฆ

Every once in a while, one comes alongside us for a day, or a time, or a season, who stands out….who makes a difference….We at Community Bible Church watched Tyler grow up from the time of a young boy….Smart, witty, and mischevious and and respectful at the same time….Tyler was one of our own! Tyler was academically acomplished, driven to seek AND fulfill God’s purpose for himself, as well as God’s plan in how to lead his family, his church family and the greater family of God. Though Tyler would’ve never had mentioned this, but his efforts in expanding & nuturing the Forest Cliff camp Program has caused for thousands of people from across southwestern Ontario, young and old alike to come into an understanding of God’s purpose for themselves….and into a life-changing relationship with Jesus, thus an inclusion into God’s eternal Kingdom….many people spend a lifetime trying to find their own purpose….All the while, Tyler was dedicated and effective in leading thousands to successfully find that purpose,…..Yes, Tyler was here…He made a difference!
