The Schwatzentrubers were a pivotal part my families “growing up”. I can’t imagine how my upbringing would have turned out without them. Jay was always there to help others. I know he taught me how to fix my bike, cut grass without blowing on the flowerbeds and even fix the lawnmower.
    Rest in peace Jay.
    Sincerely
    David Smith

  10. Willy and Martha Overholt Family

    July 13, 2025 at 2:18 PM

Sorry for your loss, Jay was no stranger to the Overholt family, my father Willy was like a second father to him. That picture of him was the Jay I remember I am sure he even played the part of Santa one year for our Christmas. May he rest in peace and I’m sure he will be looking forward to seeing our dad again, Fly high our old friend.

My sympathy to Jay’s family in his passing. I remember Jay well from my Zurich and Exeter days. Jay was always helpful to others in every situation. I especially remember any time there was a need or even a possible need for “first aid” to others in the community, Jay would appear seemingly from nowhere and flash his St. John Ambulance card and offer his services. He sure knew what to do as well! My Mom, Marilyn Heimrich, remembers Jay from him coming into our store (Heimrich’s Stationery & Gifts) over the years and wishes to pass along her sympathy as well. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time.
    Rest in peace Jay.
