FEAR: Russel “Bee Man”

James Russel Fear, also known as “Bee Man”, passed away at Seaforth Community Hospital, on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at the age of 82. Russel was a bee keeper and thoroughly enjoyed being outdoors tending his bees and harvesting crops of rich, golden honey… but beyond his bee yard, family was the biggest treasure in Russel’s life.

Russel will be lovingly remembered by his spouse Verna Edgar and his children Rosemarie and Martin Schell, Murray and Carolyn Fear and David and Laurie Fear. Memories of a special grandpa remain with grandchildren James and Stacy Fear, Dustin and Michelle Fear, Tonia and Jeremy Fitch, Kaitlyn and Sarah Fear, Anthony and Katie De Boer, Rachel and Mike Bernard, Raymond and Heather De Boer and Adam De Boer.

Russel will also be missed by Verna’s family, including her children Carolyn and Rick Powell, Susanne and Paul Rose and Paul Edgar and grandchildren Lindsey and Jason Anstett, Ryan Powell and Kaytlin McDougall, Michelle Powell and Scott Wilson, Nathan and Jordan Rose and Kourtney and Katelyn Knights. Russel was the proud great grandfather to 23 great grandchildren.

Left to reminisce days gone by are siblings and siblings-in-law Phyllis Biggen and Dennis Jewitt, Marilyn Bridge, Larry and Linda Fear, Wayne and Barb Fear and Bruce and Joyce Fear.

Russel is predeceased by his parents Samuel and Margaret (Née Nichol) Fear, brother-in-law Allen Bridge and grandson Brent Powell.

Respecting Russel’s wishes cremation with private family arrangements will take place. Arrangements are entrusted to Haskett Funeral Home, 87 Goderich Street West, Seaforth. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Seaforth Community Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences can be made by visiting Russel’s memorial at www.haskettfh.com

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Fear family on the passing of Russel. I met Russel when he was in my grade nine class at Wingham District High School and he became interested in bees in Scotty Jackson’s Agriculture Science Class. He turned into quite a bee keeper and visited my parents in Wroxeter during their bee keeping days. Sincere sympathy from the Higgins family.
