
RASENBERG: Peacefully, surrounded by his family, at Blue Water Rest Home, Zurich, on Wednesday, October 15, 2014, Marinus “Ray” Adrianus Rasenberg, of Blue Water Rest Home, formerly of Babylon Line, Zurich, age 84. Loved father of John (Sue Ann) Rasenberg of Exeter, Miriam (Joe) Terpstra of Brussels, Johanna Pickering (Greg Ratz) of Grand Bend, Adrian (Karen) Rasenberg of Woodstock, Caroline Rasenberg of Lucan, Betty (Bill) Simmons of Northville. Loved by his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Marie (Wyand) Vingerhoeds of Finch and other siblings, nieces and nephews of Eastern Ontario and Holland. Predeceased by his parents Michael and Johanna (Vanbragt) Rasenberg of Holland, grandson Jamie Rasenberg and son-in-law Derrick Vandergunst and many brothers and sisters. Resting at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Boniface Roman Catholic Church, Zurich on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Fr. Matthew George Celebrant. Interment Exeter Cemetery. Ray immigrated from Holland and purchased his farm on the Babylon Line, where he was a long time dairy farmer, actively involved in 4-H programs and had a life long love of horses. If desired, memorial donations (payable by cheque) may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
