    Carol, Barb, Brenda & Families,
I was sorry to hear that Ray passed away. I have great memories of parties,
playing crokinole & cards with him, Harold & Liz.
My favourite memory was in 1987 for the Dashwood Halloween Dance Ray was a
a good sport & let me dress him up as the jolly green giant & I was the sprout.
We had a great time. We didnโ€™t win because Glen & Harold won with their top hats
and Liz won dressed like an old lady.
Keeping you in my thoughts & prayers during this difficult time.
    Sincere Sympathy,
    Peggy Restemayer

    Carol, Barb, Brenda and families,
So many memories flood my mind during this difficult time. I know as a little girl Uncle Ray was this huge man I definitely had to look up to! Later as an adult I realized that he was just a gentle giant.
I will share one of my childhood memories of your Dad. I was about 10 years old and I had to collect seeds for a school project. Well Mom and Dad dropped Beth and I off at Grandma’s for a few days and Grandma took us out to the farm as she called it. I asked Uncle Ray if I could have some seeds from the barn. His response was “city kids” you won’t even know the difference between them. He took me out to the barn and taught me the difference between wheat and barley. I remember that to this day and so much more.
Please accept condolences from Mark and I and know that we are thinking about you. May you rest in peace Uncle Ray.
    Love Linda

Such warm memories I hold of Ray and Isobel welcoming me into their family fold whenever I spend time at their farm playing with Carol and Barb, Brenda. Mischievous and a big kid himself, he’d often join in with our water fights and hiding games, entertaining us with his humour and playfulness while Mother Isobel watched and giggled. In our teen years he would tease and tolerate our partying in his barn on Halloween, or around the summer campfire late into the night, always keeping a watchful but not intrusive eye on our shenanigans. Throughout his aging years I have admired his resilience, independence, his interest and involvement in community and love of family. A good and kind, softly spoken man. Ray you have surely earned your wings to fly home.
