RADER: Donald “Don” Louis

RADER: Donald Louis Rader of Exeter, formerly of Hay Township, age 70. Don was a gentle, honourable man prepared to meet his Heavenly Father. He died peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at South Huron Hospital, Exeter, Tuesday, January 24, 2012 after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Beloved husband of Karen Ann (Clausius) Rader for 50 years. Dear son of Violet Mae (Oesch) Rader of Exeter and the late Alvin Rader (1986). Loved father and father-in-law of Patricia and David Kirk of London, Scott and Karen Rader of Dashwood, Lisa and David Burley of Almont, MI. and Andrea Rader of London. Loving grandfather of Eric Kirk, Kristen Kirk, Jillian Carter, Abigail Burley and Kathryn Rose Burley. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Wesley Rader of Ottawa, Keith Rader of Leamington, Roy and Gail Rader of RR 4, St. Marys, Ruth and Andrew Imanse of Brea, CA, Cheryl and Ken Borrows of London, Brad and Angela Clausius of Zurich. Remembered by his nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by sister Linda Coates (1999) sisters-in-law Linda Rader (2000), Suzanne Rader (2010), brother-in-law Jim Coates (1999), father-in-law and mother-in-law Albert (1985) and Irene (Gerber) (2011) Clausius. Resting at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood, with visitation Friday 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Zurich, Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 11 a.m. The Rev. Nadine Schroeder-Kranz officiating. Interment St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery. If desired memorial donations (made payable by cheque ) to the Canadian Cancer Society – Pancreatic Cancer Research, St. Peter’s Lutheran Church or South Huron Hospital Foundation would be appreciated. The family want to thank Dr. Lam, Dr. Kelly and the South Huron Hospital nurses for their compassionate palliative care to Don.
