Passed away at peacefully at Country Terrace, Komoka on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at the age of 92. Beloved wife of the late Agnelo Rebelo Oliveira. Cherished mother of Cinelandia Menezes, Cristina de Oliveira, Connie and Joe Medeiros, the late Francisco (Frank) and Patricia Oliveira, Maria Elizabeth Oliveira and Vallerie Oliveira and Daniel Moniz. Adored grandmother of Doug Shaw, Mark Shaw; Suesy Jackman, Paul Demelo; Cherrie Flancia, Julie Ann Bunagan; Sarah Oliveira, Benjamin Oliveira, Daniel Oliveira, Davi Oliveira; Rachel Oliveira, Albert Oliveira; Alexandra Oliveira, Jacob Oliveira, and Sophia Oliveira, and great-grandmother of Ida Jackman, Layla Jackman; Alexander Brotzel, Scarlett Bunagan, Cristian Bunagan, and Milana Bunagan. Dear sister of Maria Lima of Ribeira Grande, São Miguel, Açores and Irene Ferreira of Hamilton, Ontario. Fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and extended family and in-laws. Predeceased by her parents Mariano and Irene de melo Menezes and her sister Maria Lima.
Idalina, originally from Portugal, was a kind and devoted woman who cherished her family and had a deep love for animals. She spent many years working as a cleaner, a role she took great pride in. She found true happiness in the beautiful home her beloved husband Agnelo built in Portugal, where she enjoyed many peaceful days. Splitting her time between Canada and Portugal, Idalina embraced both places and the people she met along the way. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
A time for family and friends to say goodbye will be held on Saturday, April 26th from 4 – 6 PM at Haskett Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, Lucan. Interment will be held at a later date in São Miguel, Açores.
If donations are desired, Alzheimer Society South West Partners – Middlesex would be appreciated by the family.
