Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Jessica’s House, Exeter on Monday, July 7, 2025 at the age of 69. Beloved husband of Connie Odorico (Meurs) for 30 years. Proud dad of Caroline Odorico of Goderich. Cherished Grandpa of Elliot Odorico. Dear brother-in-law of Nick Meurs of Kitchener, John Meurs of London, and Betty Karahalios (Meurs) of London. Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Primo and Luiga Odorico, and his brother-in-law Fred Meurs of Saskatchewan.
Lucio loved spending his time tending to his garden, and when he wasn’t, you could catch him by the water fishing. These were some of his favourite hobbies.
Lucio’s funeral mass will be held at Precious Blood Catholic Church, 200 Sanders Street West, Exeter, on Friday, July 11th at 11 AM. Cremation to follow with interment at Exeter Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Lucio may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Connie, Caroline and family,
Please accept my heartfelt sympathy, I’m so sorry for your loss.
I only learned of Lucio’s passing to day, I worked for Compass out of the Mississauga office and connected with Lucio a lot over my 43 years with the company. He was always so very passionate about his work.
My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

Dear Connie & Family. I just learned of Lucio’s passing this morning. You have my sincere condolences. As of course u know, I worked with Lucio at the Salt Mine for many, many years. He was a great guy, liked by all who knew him. We used to have some great chats during our smoke break. You may not know that Wayne passed away this past Dec 13th after battling Lupus on & off for his entire adult life. He began to decline very quickly during last summer. His internal organs began shutting down, he suffered severe pain at times & was almost blind. He no longer wanted to go on & on Dec 11th he made arrangements for MAID & passed away very peacefully & quietly on D3c.13th. It was happened so quickly that it left me in a state of shock. I know I shouldn’t have used this platform to tell you, but I didn’t know how to contact you. Again, I’m so sorry Connie.

So sad to hear about Lucio. We both worked at the mine in Goderich and rode together from Exeter for almost a year. I really enjoyed our conversation on the way to and from work. In the morning we would talk about life, kids and fishing on the way home we would decompress with work talk. Rest in peace my buddy see you on the other side.

Connie, Caroline, and family,
My deepest condolences to all of you.
Lucio was my point of contact for over 15 years at Compass Minerals. We spent many hours walking around and discussing not only business, but life in general. I enjoyed those times and the conversations we had. He will be missed.
Gaetan Gentilcore
was a colleague of Lucio for over 25 years. He from Goderich and I from Montreal spent a lot of time on the phone, but we were also lucky enough to see each other during business meetings. Even though most of the time we had different opinions on several subjects and it made us laugh, we were able to discuss with respect for each other. It was especially at work that we reached a consensus very quickly. Lucio was a tireless worker who was committed to the success of Sifto even after his retirement. I have very fond memories of Lucio, especially of our last meeting on July 5, 2022, in Belleville between Exeter and Montreal. I was happy to see him and discuss his new life as a retiree with his family. During our last telephone conversation a few weeks ago, I was impressed but not surprised by his ability to face the situation with courage and dignity. He was happy with the care he was receiving surrounded by Connie, Caroline, and Elliot. Rest in peace my friend Lucio.

Our prayers remain with you. Lucio and I spent many hours discussing Religion, and faith. The predominate impression he made on me during these time, was he had a deep belief in our Lord and Saviour, Brother, I celebrate your time you are now spending with our Lord. I can just imagine how those chats are going, someday I wish to join in.
