Passed away peacefully at London Health Sciences Centre – Victoria Hospital on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the age of 87. Beloved husband of Leah Hachey for 14 years. Lovingly remembered by his children, David (Jessica) Murray and Melissa Murray, and their Mother, Kitty. Proud grandfather of Charlotte and Maddy. Deeply missed by Leah’s daughter Tammy (Peter) Naujok, and their children Jennifer and Amber.
Dear brother of Barb (John) McDowell. Survived by his nieces and nephew, Dawn, Dale, Todd, and Cheryl.
Predeceased by his late wife Beth (2007), and by his parents Jack and Merle Murray, and by Leah’s son Kenneth Bush (1987). Fondly remembered by Beth’s children Tim, Paul, and Tom Luke.
Bob lived a full and active life, embracing every opportunity to learn, create, and give back to those around him. An avid gardener, tending to his gardens was one of his greatest passions and brought him endless joy throughout his life. Golf was a lifelong love. He was a proud member of several clubs, including Seaforth Golf Club, Atlantis Golf Club in Florida, Big Bay Point Golf Club, York Downs Golf & Country Club. In his younger years, Bob enjoyed skiing and excelled at racquet sports. Members of the Granite Club in Toronto may remember Bob’s legacy on the squash, badminton and tennis courts. Bob also found great enjoyment in painting watercolours, expressing his creativity through his artwork. His photographs captured many memorable moments in his life. Of course, he was never in any of those photos, he was always behind the camera
Bob carried on a long family legacy in the printing industry. After graduating from RIT, he began his career with Murray Printing in Toronto before continuing with Southam Murray Printing in Weston. He later revived the family legacy, with Murray Printing and Computers (Tottenham – Alliston), where he built a respected business through his hard work and dedication.
In later years, Bob discovered a love for writing. He became a regular contributor to the Wingham Advance Times, sharing his thoughts and experiences with readers. His writing eventually led him to author his own book, My Voyage with Dementia, a heartfelt account that offered encouragement, understanding, and hope to others facing similar challenges.
Bob was also deeply committed to serving his community. He generously volunteered with Matthews House Hospice in Alliston and the Alzheimer Society Huron Perth. He continued volunteering while spending time in Florida, where he became an important supporter of the hospice community. Participants in the One Care Adult Day program in Seaforth enjoyed Bob’s camaraderie.
Above all, Bob will be remembered for his kindness, determination, generosity, and his willingness to share his talents and experiences with others. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched, both personally and through his writing.
In keeping with Bob’s wishes, a private family interment will take place at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Toronto. Family, friends and neighbours are warmly invited to a casual gathering at John Thomas Funeral Home, 244 Victoria Street East, Alliston, ON, on Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 3 – 5 PM. Please feel free to drop by at any time during these hours to share stories, reminisce and reflect on a life well lived. Light refreshments will be available.
Donations to Alzheimer Society Huron Perth, One Care, Matthews House Hospice or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Dear Leah and family.
So sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. He was an interesting man and we enjoyed meeting and spending time with him over the last few years. We would often see him working in the garden and on the golf course.
