MULLER: Matthew of Crediton

October 8, 2025 By Haskett Funeral Homes 158 Condolences

MULLER: Matthew of Crediton

Matt passed away peacefully surrounded by family after a long journey with Huntington’s Disease at Blue Water Rest Home on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at the age of 68. Beloved husband of Sue (Stretton) Muller for over 42 years. Proud dad of Heidi and Matteo Pauselli, Lindsay and Mike Groot, Michelle Muller, and Michael Muller (Camille Ituriaga). Adored Papa of Luca, Zoey; Freya, Kane, Gretta, Archer; Zane; Aria. Dear brother and brother-in-law of John and Cecile Muller, Ann and Laurie Skinner, Maureen and Alfons Weersink, Helen and Don Thomson, Allan Brocklebank (Janet Slade), Peggy and Duncan Etherington, Nancy and Bob Campbell, Lisa and Gerard Gielen, and Barb and Rob Oud. Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Bill and Mary (Koenraadt) Muller, parents-in-law Herb and Norma (Sangster) Stretton, and his sister Joanne Brocklebank.

A passionate sports enthusiast, Matt was well known for his years playing with the Exeter Hawks. He enjoyed playing hardball and soccer and together with Sue, coed slo-pitch and volleyball. Matt loved every aspect of the game — from playing and coaching to cheering on his kids from the sidelines. Matt was well respected within the farming community extending his knowledge and leadership to service on the Hensall Coop Board. Known for his fun-loving spirit and quick sense of humour, he brought laughter wherever he went. Above all, he cherished his time spent with his family, who were the heart of everything he did.

Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 456 Main Street South, EXETER on Friday evening from 5 – 8 PM.

Matt’s Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 69219 Bronson Line, Parkhill (Mount Carmel) on Saturday, October 11th at 10 AM. Interment Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Cemetery.

Donations to Huntington Society of Canada – London Chapter would be appreciated by the family.

Though Matt’s journey is complete, ours continues with his strength in our hearts.

Dag lieve familie.

Matt was a team-mate, different times in different sports. As steely a competitor as we ever played with or against, yet we couldn’t name another individual more widely liked on-and-off the ice, or the soccer pitch. May he rest-in-peace. He will certainly be remembered.

My deepest condolences to the whole family. Matt was a fantastic man. I have many memories of him. He used to pull his car up to behind the plate at the ball diamond so I could sit in his warm car while watch the guys play ball. I ended up buying that car. White Caprice Classic with navy blue interior. I called it the boat. His memories will live on in many. So sorry for your loss ♥️

    To the Muller Family,
Years ago when Matt ordered chicken feed from the Hensall Co-op Londesboro Feed Mill I often took his feed orders from him. I think I met Matt once in person when the Board of Directors did their yearly tour of the mill. I always enjoyed talking to Matt as he would brighten a person’s day with his friendliness and jokes. I am sorry to hear he has had to battle Huntington’s disease. Cherish your memories of better times to help you through this sad time. My sincere condolences to Sue and his family.
    Sincerely,
    Helen Lyons

My memories of Matt, my big cousin from Canada, is that:

he is my big cousin from Canada and I his youngest cousin is the Netherlands of course. And that he was to tease me. I also called him “pestkop”. So we were teasing each other.

And through this way I want to wish you strength and he has found his peace. However, you will never lose what is in your heart
