MOORE: Lloyd of Exeter

July 2, 2025 By Haskett Funeral Homes 181 Condolences

MOORE: Lloyd of Exeter

Passed away unexpectedly at South Huron Hospital on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at the age of 83. Cherished husband of Carol (Taylor) Moore for 58 years. Loving father of Tim and Lesley Moore of Exeter, and Cindy and Rob Foster of Bryanston. Proud Papa Lloyd of Ava, and Lyla Moore; Taylor, Sarah, and Megan Foster. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Barbara Eisenschink, Bob and Cathy Moore, Marlene Moore, Barry and Pat Taylor, and Don and Lorraine Taylor. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Cliff and Audrey (Prance) Moore, parents-in-law Bob and Willa (Jervis) Taylor, brother Ron Moore and brother-in-law George Eisenschink.

Lloyd proudly worked for Frito Lay for over 36 years and was known far and wide from both work and his license plate โ€œMr. Fritoโ€. Together he and Carol have many pleasant memories of their times at Saddlebag Lake Resort in Florida where they created many friendships. He will be missed by his coffee buddies at A&W, a daily gathering place. He touched many lives through his many years of coaching PeeWee hockey in Exeter and getting to hoist the All-Ontario Championship Cup (1973) was one of his highlights. Above all, he was the biggest fan and cheerleader of his 5 granddaughters through all their sporting events.

A casual gathering to celebrate Lloydโ€™s life will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 456 Main Street South, EXETER on Sunday, July 6th from 1 โ€“ 4 PM with words of remembrance at 3 PM. A private family inurnment will be held at the Exeter Cemetery at a later date.

Donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Carol and family – sorry to hear of Lloydโ€™s passing. Lloyd and yourself were wonderful neighbours and he was always smiling and happy to greet our girls or have us over for a swim. Iโ€™ll never forget the โ€œTu-itโ€ coin he gave us when Tim and I got married – Lloyd told us to give it to each other when we need something done on the โ€œhoney doโ€ list.
May you find peace and strength in this difficult time,
    Stephanie

I was sorry to hear that Lloyd had passed away. As a player on his 1973 team, Lloyd is and will always be be a part of my childhood memories. He was a great hockey coach and the hockey lessons and values(and those early Saturday morning practices) that he taught us as kids served us well as we grew older. Carol, Cindy, Tim and families. Very saddened to hear of Lloyds passing, and my deepest condolences at a very trying time. I have very fond memories of the moments our families were able to share. One of the earliest was to have Cindy as the flower girl at our wedding. Our visits to the Moore household were always fun times, unfortunately they were all too rare, due to the distance between our homes. Lloyd was a very wonderful man, warm and funny, and will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Carol, I was especially grateful to meet up with you last year in Strathroy, where I was honoured to present your granddaughter and her team the championship trophy for her soccer team’s victory. Again, deepest condolences from my family and I on this saddest of occasions.
