MOOR: H. Kenneth “Ken” formerly of Lucan

September 20, 2025 By Haskett Funeral Homes 33 Condolences

MOOR: H. Kenneth “Ken” formerly of Lucan

With profound sadness we announce the passing of H. Kenneth Moor, age 88 on Saturday, September 20, 2025. Although our hearts are broken, it brings comfort that he has been reunited with his beloved wife, Rita who passed away in 2016.

Adored father of Pamela Moor-Bruggeman and Gary V. Bruggeman of Glencoe. Proud grandfather of Celine Bruggeman (Travis) of Petrolia and Lynnai Bruggeman (Derrick) of Dover Centre. Beloved brother of Connie Heath of Corunna and “brother” Nelson Praill of Chatham. Dear brother-in-law of Roger and Irene Griffin of London. He will be missed by his cats Mac and Llyod. Honorary Grandpa to Natasha and Tyler Thomson, Chiara Free, and Megan, Matt and Hailey Greb. Predeceased by his brother Bill and his wife Vera Moor, brother-in-law Doug Heath, and special “sister” Linda and her husband Peter Munro.

To know Ken was to love him. He started his career at London Life in the mail room, moving up to the printing department, and then to the London Board of Education, where he retired after 35 years as head of Duplicating Services. He was a member of many organizations, including the Masonic Lodge (Irving Lodge #154), Shrine-Mocha Temple, and Eastern Star. He loved devoting time to charity work and took honour in volunteering in his community. He drove his classic cars and motorcycles in parades, helped with countless fundraising activities and collected cans for wheelchairs until his passing days. Ken knew the value of kindness and spent his days helping anyone. Along the way, he filled his life with hobbies— gardening, woodworking, caring for countless animals, fishing, showing off his beloved cars and most of all, doting on his family.  Ken’s last days were surrounded by family and friends, his beloved Mac, and listening to his favorite classical music with his family near by.

Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, LUCAN on Wednesday, September 24th from 4 – 7 PM, where Ken’s memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 25th at 11 AM with Pastor Steve Greene officiating. Cremation with interment St. James Cemetery, Clandeboye.

As a true gentleman, everything Ken did, he did with his heart. He has left a lasting impression with everyone he met. The world will not be the same without Ken’s kindness, smile and sense of humour. If you would like to honour Ken, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Pam our condolences go out to you. Ken had a heart of gold for everyone he touched. His smile and positivity were contagious. He was a terrific neighbor for may years. I was never to fond of riding the bus to Medway and he would frequently give me a ride. I greatly enjoyed conversations with him!

    Pam and family,
Ken has left behind lots of lovely memories for us of a fine man. We always enjoyed his visits when meeting up with him and later when stopping in with MOW. He was missed when he left Lucan and l always still glance in on the way south and look for that giant M on his house. It will always be the Moor house. Peace be with you.

    Dear Pam and Family,

Please accept my heartfelt condolences for your loss. Ken was such a patient and loving father to you, Pam. His easy-going nature and the twinkle in his eye as he told goofy dad jokes, made my childhood visits to Lucan much anticipated and welcome respites. I’ll always remember Ken with great fondness.

Ken was a fine Mason and so much more. He supported me when I was District Deputy Grand Master for south Huron and drove me in one of his fancy cars to some of the lodge nights. His wisdom and kindness I never forget not only in Lodge but also at church and over a coffee. My condolences to the family he liked so much to talk about.

My sympathy goes out to Ken’s Family. Ken was my secretary when I was master of Craig Lodge. Rita made sure that Ken & I had all the paperwork in order so I got to know her as well. I have great respect for the two of them. They will be missed by many.

    Dearest Pam,

Sending our deepest condolences to you and your family.
Rita and Ken were some of the first friends we made after moving to Canada, a warm and welcoming family that made our transition so much gentler. Our girls still remember Sunday roast dinners at your house in Elginfield with great fondness, times that meant so much to us. We are so grateful to have met your Mum and Dad (and your Nana) all those years ago, and for the many years of friendship since.
Your Dad was a kind and generous man, always so mild-mannered and humble. He will be greatly missed. You have forever been the apple of his eye :)
    Rest in eternal peace, Ken.

Love, Jean and Brian, Tracey and Jackie

Pam, our sincere condolences on the passing of your Dad. Fond memories of your Mom & Dad and you formed over the last many decades warm my heart.
I still have a few of the personalized envelopes (32802 Richmond St.) that he made for me while he was with the Board. Every time I use them I think of the three of you across the highway. Your family was such good neighbours.
May you find peace & comfort knowing that they both brought others much joy.

Ken will long be remembered for the many years he and Rita made their home in Lucan. They were a couple who consistently showed respect, concern and admiration for each other and you Pam, were definitely their pride and joy. Ken was always quick to share his smile, and ready to do his share with any organization he was part of. You and your family will miss him but can take comfort in knowing you took good care of him. Thinking of you with sympathy.

We offer our deepest condolences to Pamela and Gary, Celine and Travis, and Lynnai and Derrick for the physical loss of Ken, your loving father and grandfather. He will always be with you in the warmth you feel from a summer breeze or the beauty of a flower that grows in your garden. Ken and Rita continue to radiate Love and Light on you from wherever their spirits may be.

Ken will always be remembered as a “true” gentleman and a loving family man who lived life with his heart. His family was his pride and joy and his reason for being. His purpose in life was to love, provide and protect them and to be a role model for his family. This was his nature in life and will continue to be his essence in spirit.

We have beautiful memories of our times spent together, especially at Easter and Christmas while we watched Celine and Lynnai grow into the beautiful women they are today.

Blessings and love to you as you continue to move through this deep grief. We hurt so much when we love so deeply.

Peace be with you. Irene and Roger Griffin
