MERKLEY: Suddenly at his residence on Wednesday, August 21, 2019, James Carl Henry Merkley, recently of Bayfield, formerly of New Hamburg and Kitchener, age 78. Beloved companion of Ruth L. (Wagler) O’Brien. Father of Darrell Merkley, James Merkley, Jeff Merkley and Jason Merkley. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Maryanne and Al Holtz of Ayr and Doug Merkley of Kitchener. Remembered by his nieces, nephews and their families and Ruth’s family. At James’ request, cremation has taken place and no formal services will be held at this time. Arrangements entrusted to the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood. If desired, memorial donations (payable by cheque) to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
