KIVINEN: Roy Victor, age 71 of Grand Bend, Ontario, formerly of Ingersoll, Ontario. With heartfelt filled gratitude for a life well lived, we announce his death. Roy died peacefully with all of his children at his side on Saturday, January 26, 2008 in Kentville, Nova Scotia. Born in Montreal, Quebec, he was the son of the late Aaro & Anni Jalo Kivinen of Turku, Finland. Roy served on the Police department for a total of 36 years (Toronto & Ingersoll). Roy was the beloved husband of the late Dianne Kivinen (2005), loved father of Doug (Julie) B.C., Glenn (Glenda) Ont. and Marianne (Mike) Lalande, N.S., brother of Laila (Benny) Zaryski, Sask., and Leila (Joe) Pelkonen, Ont., brother-in-law of Judy (Jeff) Funnell, Ont. and Linda Saint, Ont., along with a number of nieces and nephews. Loving Grandfather (G-pops / Poppa) of Daniel, Drew, Ashley Alicia and Micheala. Great grandfather of Tianna. He will also be missed by his many devoted and life long friends. Cremation has taken place in Nova Scotia and a Celebration of Roy’s Life will be held at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home in Dashwood, Ontario, on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at 11 a.m. If desired, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or charity of choice would be appreciated.
