KING: Bevan Rupert of Seaforth

July 25, 2025 By Haskett Funeral Homes 7 Condolences

KING: Bevan Rupert of Seaforth

Passed away at Seaforth Long Term Care on Monday, July 21, 2025 at the age of 96. Beloved husband of the late Catherine H. Wright for 58 years and the late Lois O. Wise for 11 years. Cherished father of Janet Elizabeth King and Cheryl Ann Kaunismaa and special father-in-law to Victor. Adored and cherished grandfather of Peter Toms (predeceased), Valerie Luk; David Kaunismaa, and Andrew Kaunismaa. Dear great-grandfather to Jessica Toms; Victoria Luk, and Nicholas Luk. Dear brother to Hollister King (predeceased), and Charles King. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Bevan King lived in various parts of Ontario, Canada his entire life.  He was especially endeared to Kincardine where his parents met, and where he spent many childhood summers.  He came from a family of devout Anglicans, and served as a church warden at St. James Anglican Church in Middleton which later amalgamated with Trinity Anglican Church in Bayfield. Bevan worked for over 30 years at the Ontario Food Terminal as an accountant/manager.  He also owned and operated apple orchards in Colborne, Ontario.  He was a man of many hobbies, most notably, an avid stamp collector.   What he will be remembered for is sure to be his lightheartedness and amiability.  Bevan rarely missed a weekday of work or a Sunday of church, attesting to his reliability and steadfastness. He was adored by his late wives, Catherine and Lois, and lovingly cared for them both through their terminal cancers.  May he rest in peace in his heavenly home.

“Well done…good and faithful servant.”

Special thanks to Seaforth Long Term Care Home for their quality nursing care, especially nurses Rose and Dan.

Cremation has taken place. A private family interment will be held at St. Paul’s Columbus Cemetery, Brooklin at a later date.

Donations to Cancer Research Society would be appreciated by the family.

I have fond memories of growing up and spending time with Uncle Bev. He got me my first summer job working with him at the Ontario Food Terminal and he would pick me up and drive me there and back! Though itโ€™s been a long time since we saw each other, I will always remember his kindness and gentle nature. What an incredible life he livedโ€”96years full of love and experiences. My heartfelt condolences to the family.
