KENNEY: Glen “Flash” Roy

KENNEY:  Flash’s wishes have been accomplished, his first wish was the planned event on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at the Legion and he was overwhelmed with the turn out of his family, friends and co-workers for his Pre-Celebration of Life, his second wish was accommodated when he passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by the love of his family, on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, Glen Roy “Flash” Kenney of Exeter, age 71.  Flash will be lovingly remembered by his long-time partner Linda Quesnel, son Dan Sheppard, sister Pat Case & Harold Gingerich, step-daughter Donna Beaver & Neil Gregory, step-son Randy Quesnel & Belinda Arbo, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and their families.  He is predeceased by his parents Roy “Joe” and Dorothy (Desjardine) Kenney, brother Donald Kenney and step-son Robert Jones.  At Flash’s request, cremation will take place and no additional formal services will be held. Interment in Crediton Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood.  Flash was a long time member of the community and former town of Exeter and Municipality of South Huron employee.  He is well known for his time spent with the town and at the landfill site and operation of many of the pieces of heavy equipment throughout his working career. If desired, memorial donations (payable directly) to Royal Canadian Legion, RE Pooley Branch 167, Exeter or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Glenn’s truck broke down once in front of my place. I was working in the garden, he walked over to me, asked me if could use my phone. I recognized him from driving the grader and other equipment in the area. It was lunchtime. I made him a tomato sandwich and gave him a bottle of water while he waited for his ride. Later he brought me a box of chocolates to thank me. So sweet.

    To Glen and family
We are sorry we will not be able to attend your celebration of life today. It must take tremendous courage to hold this event while being at the end of your life. Many good memories of you working for MOSH and in your spare time cutting wood. When the time comes, Rest In Peace. Our condolences to all
