I traveled with Brian here in Alaska to different short range radar sites. Brian was one of my instructors in North Bay while I was learning how to maintain short range radars here in Alaska. Brian was a very good man, had a great sense of humor, and talked often about his family.
I just want to send my condolences to the friends and family of this very nice man. It is very sad to hear of his passing and you are in our thoughts and prayers. I to lost my sister to ALS and know first hand at what a nasty disease it can be for everyone. I just know that my Sister and Brian are now both free from that awful disease and I hope it brings comfort for those of us left behind, I have to believe they are in a better place now.

To all of his family and friends, especially to you and your flock, Una, I want to express my sincere condolences on Brian’s untimely passing. Like many dreaded challenges of our time, ALS may have chipped away at his health but it never deterred him from embracing his life…until the end. As his brother Lionel said, “he packed a lot of living into his final years” – a sign, undoubtedly, of his strength and determination to adapt to his challenges…and to avail of his opportunity to give back to those that meant the most to him. May he live on in your memories and soar in your dreams. RIP and Godspeed to a courageous soldier.
