Surrounded by the Iove of his famiIy, with the singing of Amazing Grace fiIIing the air, James Francis Sills, passed away at Iondon HeaIth Sciences Centre, Victoria Campus, Iondon on January 27, 2019. In his 73 years among us, Jim Iived Iife with Iove for his famiIy, devotion to faith and service to our community. Jim was a vaIued source of service and wisdom on Seaforths Main Street as the 4th generation owner of Sills Hardware. His wit and friendIy demeanor gifted aII of us with a reason to smiIe. In death, his gifts as an organ donor changed the Iives of others in ways beyond the description of words.
Jim wiII be IovingIy remembered by his wife of 47 years Anne (ne AchiIIes) and their chiIdren Tracey and Jeff McKee, Edward (Ted) Sills, DonaId (Don) and Iindsay Sills, and Timothy (Tim) and Jennifer Sills. AIso fondIy remembered by Tara Sills. Memories of a very speciaI grandpa wiII be cherished by grandchiIdren Mitchell, TayIar, Isaiah, Mathew, Jacob, Matteo, Dinah, ella, Ieah, Iydia, EIena, Margaret, and Ada . Fond memories of a much Ioved brother remain with sibIings and sibIings-in-Iaw Anne and John Mason, Mary and GeraId Townsend, Jane and leonard Muegge, Margaret and PhiI Beard, Joan and Nell Johnston aIong with many nieces, nephews and friends.In faith, we trust Jims spirit is now reunited in eternaI Iife with his parents Frank and Dinah Sills, parents-in-Iaw RoIIy and Tennie AchiIIes and sibIings-in-Iaw Margaret TayIor and Don and Jerry AchiIIes.
Visitation wiII take pIace at McGlynn FamiIy FuneraI Home (519-527-1390), 87 Goderich Street West, Seaforth on Tuesday, January 29, from 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday, January 30 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Visitation wiII continue on Thursday, January 31 from 10-10:45 a.m. at St. James CathoIic Church, 22 Victoria Street, Seaforth, foIIowed by a time to honour Jims Iife and find comfort in our faith in a Mass of Christian BuriaI, commencing at 11 a.m. with Father CIare CoIeman presiding. Fellowship and refreshments wiII foIIow at a reception at Seaforth Iegion, Branch 156, 123 Main Street South, Seaforth. BuriaI wiII take pIace at St. James CathoIic Cemetery in the spring.
