After a courageous battle with cancer, Myrna passed away peacefully at Jessica’s House surrounded by family on Friday, January 23, 2026, at the age of 68. She will be sadly missed by her loving partner Ron Trickett. Loving mom of her daughters Julia (Mark) Loft and Jaela Jenken (Brian). Proud grandma of her grandsons who were the laughter in her days, Tyler, Nicholas, and Emmett. Dear sister of Stewart Burk (Rose) and Robert (Lisa) Burk and sister-in-law of Charlotte (Gary) Platten, Gary (Sandy) Trickett, John Trickett, Joy (Len) Addley. Sadly missed by Ron’s family; Candace Trickett, Karlie Trickett (Brandon), Adam Howdick (Jenn) and his grandsons Cayden and Hudson. Fondly remembered by Ray and Janet Jenken and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Reginald and Betty Ruth Burk and her sister-in-law Renée Burk.
Myrna lived her life in service and love to others. For more than 20 years, she devoted herself as a skating coach at the Watford Skating Club, mentoring young skaters with encouragement, and care. Through her many years with Mary Kay, she helped women feel confident and valued, while proudly leading and supporting her team. Never one to stop learning or giving, she returned to school later in life and became a Registered Alternative Health Care Practitioner, spending many years in private practice helping others feel their best. Above all, she was a nurturer — someone who instinctively put others first and lived to help in any way she could. Her love for her family was deep, unwavering, and at the centre of everything she did.
Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, LUCAN on Tuesday, January 27th from 6 – 8 PM, where Myrna’s funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 28th at 11 AM. Private family interment Botany Cemetery.

Dear Stewart, Robert and Julia and Jaela, I was so sad to read of Myrna’s passing. When I saw her at Betty’s funeral, Myrna looked great! I called Carol Deane and she hadn’t heard the news. Carol sends her heartfelt condolences. Your parents were her daughter’s Godparents. If I can find it, I have the sweetest picture of her and Alleda Littlejohn on the swing at Clark’s school. I have one of my last year there – 1964 – I will try to send a copy if I can. If not, please let the funeral home know that you may have my email address to contact me. Your Mom’s love of the sport, dance, was so noted whenever she stepped on the ice to greet our skaters at the Watford Skating Club. As a dedicated coach of Ice Dance, her gloves would hammer out the rhythm of the Dutch Waltz, Canesta or whatever was her skater’s program to complete. Then on to the General session where she clasped small hands urging them to complete their first spin or jump.
She played a vital role in our club but her most important role was being your Mom. When we spoke about our children, you could always see her love and joy, you both brought to her life. Please hold tight and cherish these memories.
