Passed away peacefully at home on the farm surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, June 23, 2024 of St. Joseph at the age of 78. Beloved wife and best friend of the late Pat Jeffrey (February 2024) for 58 years. Proud mom of Denise and Jim Dietrich, Leeanne Regier and John Maisonville, and Nicole and Sean Thomas. Adored Mémé of Derek, Stephanie and Seth, Jon-Lucas and Amanda; Erica, Zoey, Marissa, Mikayla, Mya; Scott, Jordyn, and Old-Mémé to Caleb, Dean, and Jaxson. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Martha and Ken Mungar, Cathy Shephard, Paul Denomme and Lynn Ferwerda, Peter and Evelyn Jeffrey, Sarah Jeffrey, Linda and Joe Denomme, John and Lesley Jeffrey, Theresa Burr, Cathy and Brad Gregus, Michael and Sharon Jeffrey, Jeannette and Brayden Whilsmith, Robert Jeffrey, Dennis and Sheila Jeffrey, Fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Russell and Kathleen (Durand) Sreenan, parents-in-law Dominique and Dolly (Siemon) Jeffrey, sister Madeline Denomme, brother-in-law Roger Shephard, infant sister-in-law Monica, brothers-in-law Ray Jeffrey and Charles Jeffrey and her nieces and nephews Jodi Rose, Derek Denomme, Suzanne Jeffrey, and Andre Jeffrey.
Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home 49 Goshen Street North, ZURICH on Wednesday, June 26th from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM.
Elaine’s Funeral Mass will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 73309 Bluewater Highway (Highway 21), Zurich (St. Joseph) on Thursday, June 27th at 11 AM. Cremation to follow with a private family interment at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
Donations to the Verspeeten Family Cancer Centre would be appreciated by the family.
We are always willing to go where called upon but this image shows a visual of the communities that our included in our initial transportation fee. We offer a 40km radius from any of our 5 locations (Arva (London), Exeter, Lucan, Seaforth, and Zurich). Any mileage beyond the included 40km will be charged a rate of $2.50/km (one way travel only).

Elaine was my older cousin. She always sparkled with enthusiasm. Her compassion and comforting nature was special. Genuine love. She was gifted this way. Always had it.
She would baby sit us in London over off of Trafalgar Street. What a handful we were.
As a I was a helping cousin on Uncle Vic’s farm in the summer, I remember Pat dating Elaine. Dances were held in the kitchen by Mary Ann on that lanolin floor. That portable record player as loud as it could be cranked . Must have been 20 of them. They taught us how to jive. They girls used us to practice until older boyfriends showed up.
Anyway it was a wonderful time to be alive. Elaine was part of the wonder. I would see her and Pat over the years. Quite few years. She always had the special smile and sincere affection for us.
For Elaine I know that God is breathing his every loving spirit into her soul. Filling her with eternal life. I also pray she find comfort in her new home. I will pray for her forty days and nights, thanking God for receiving her into a new born life. I know she’s alright.
