HUNT: Peacefully, into God’s care at London Health Sciences Centre, University Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family, Thursday, May 3, 2012, John Melvin Hunt of Southcott Pines, Grand Bend, formerly of Brampton, age 80. Beloved husband of Joan Helen (Hubbel) Hunt. Loved father and father-in-law of Robert and Debbie Hunt of Orangeville, Jack and Nancy Hunt of Ottawa, Susan Hunt and Ian Pangborn of Calgary, Sandra and Paul Smith of Grand Bend. Loving grandpa of Emily, Natalia and Peter Hunt, Alison and Dylan Hunt, Shannon and Claire Pangborn, Maggie and Julia Hunt-Smith. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Donald and Helen Hunt of Florida, Caroline Hunt of Toronto, Barbara Hubbell of London, Bill and Carol Mitchell of Long Point. Remembered by his many nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by granddaughter Sara Hunt-Deitz, brother Jim Hunt, brother-in-law Sherwood Hubbell, sister-in-law Joy Mitchell and parents James “Mel” and Maizie (Heal) Hunt. Cremation. Visitation at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood, Tuesday, May 8, 2012 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A Celebration of John’s life will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 2 Main St., Bayfield, Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at 11 a.m. The Rev. Susan Moore officiating. Reception to follow. A Family Gathering interment will take place at Woodland Cemetery, London at 3:30 p.m. If desired, memorial donations (payable by cheque) to Grand Bend Area Health Services Foundation, Knox Presbyterian Church or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. John attended public and high school in Sarnia, graduated from Business Administration, University of Western Ontario and he became a Chartered Accountant with Peat Marwick, Mitchell firm in Toronto. He had a successful career in finance with the Chrysler Corporation which gave him the opportunity to move his family to Windsor, Madrid, Spain, Mexico City, Brampton and concluded his career at Robertson Whitehouse in Milton. He was the Past President of Southcott Pines Association, Treasurer of Grand Bend Area Health Services Foundation, long time member of Kinsmen Club and served as an Elder and Treasurer within the Presbyterian Church. He was an avid golfer, curler, a keen bridge player and enjoyed travelling with the love of his life, wife Joan, on many vacations with family and friends. In addition to his accomplished career, the most important aspect of his life was his family, particularly his love of his grandchildren.

Memorial Tree

Each year we hold a tree dedication ceremony at Morrison Dam in Exeter. We purchase a tree to be planted in memory of the lives lost from the previous year.

Our Service Coverage Area

Service AreaWe are always willing to go where called upon but this image shows a visual of the communities that our included in our initial transportation fee. We offer a 40km radius from any of our 5 locations (Arva (London), Exeter, Lucan, Seaforth, and Zurich). Any mileage beyond the included 40km will be charged a rate of $2.50/km (one way travel only).

Potential Additional Transportation Fees

$150 - If transport requires more than one person, additional fee charged per person required
$150 - If transport occurs outside Mon-Fri, 9-5 business hours
