HORNER: Peacefully, at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital, Strathroy, on Sunday, July, 13, 2014, Robert “Bob” Blake Horner, of Country Manor Retirement Home, Thedford, formerly of Grand Bend, Dashwood and Zurich, age 80. Beloved son of the late Blake and Dora (Geiger) Horner. Remembered by his sister-in-law Grace Horner of Grand Bend, nephew Steven Horner and friend Kathy Morgan both of Grand Bend and London and many other nieces, nephews and their families. Dear friend of Judy and Gord Vincent of Shipka, Jud and Beth Bumstead of Grand Bend. Predeceased by his siblings Keith Horner, Harold Horner, Greta Schade-Schatz, Doris Schoch and Jean Witmer. Bob was an active and long time member of Emmanuel United Church, Zurich, serving for many years as the church Treasurer. He was the former bookkeeper at McKinlay Hatchery, Zurich and the Tender Spot Grocery Store in Grand Bend. Bob was an avid, long time and well versed fan of his beloved Toronto Maple Leafs. At Bob’s request cremation will take place with interment following at Emmanuel United Church Cemetery, Zurich. A Memorial Service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, Thedford on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at 1 p.m. The Rev. Christine O’Reilly Officiating. Reception to follow in the church fellowship hall. Arrangements entrusted to T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood. If desired memorial donations (payable by cheque) to the charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
