HODGINS: James Cecil of Lucan, Ontario

Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, August 1, 2013, of Lucan, Ontario passed away in his 74th year.  He will be sadly missed by his loving wife and best friend of 55 years, Sheila (Ford) Hodgins.  Dear father of Lori Anne Hodgins of Strathroy, Deborah Darlene Wonnacott and husband John of Arva, James (Jamie) Cecil Hodgins and wife Lynda of London.  Dear grandfather of Katie, Michael; Jenny, Meghan and Adam; Brendan, Daryl and Jeremy and great-grandfather of Logan and twins Jax and Brooklyn.  Dear brother of Joseph William of Lucan and the late Herb Stretton.  Dear son-in-law of Almira Ford of Exeter.  Dear brother-in-law of Gary Ford and wife Jan of Burlington.  Dear uncle of Peggy, Nancy, Susan, Lisa, Barb, Jennifer and Michael.  Predeceased by his parents Cecil and Thelma (Strasser) Hodgins.  Missed every day by his beloved dog Mandy!

Friends may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, Lucan on Sunday afternoon 2-5 PM, where the funeral service will be held on Monday, August 5th at 11 AM with Bob Heywood officiating.  Interment St. James Cemetery, Clandeboye.

Donations to the Lucan Area Heritage & Donnelly Museum or the London Humane Society would be appreciated by the family.

    God has called Cecil home, but he will always remain in our hearts. His life was well lived and the closeness of his family is great proof of that. His body needed rest, but his soul lives on forever. Cecil left the world a better place and he will be well remembered.

Memorial Tree

Each year we hold a tree dedication ceremony at Morrison Dam in Exeter. We purchase a tree to be planted in memory of the lives lost from the previous year.

Our Service Coverage Area

Service AreaWe are always willing to go where called upon but this image shows a visual of the communities that our included in our initial transportation fee. We offer a 40km radius from any of our 5 locations (Arva (London), Exeter, Lucan, Seaforth, and Zurich). Any mileage beyond the included 40km will be charged a rate of $2.50/km (one way travel only).

Potential Additional Transportation Fees

$150 - If transport requires more than one person, additional fee charged per person required
$150 - If transport occurs outside Mon-Fri, 9-5 business hours
