HEYWOOD : It is with much sadness, Aaron’s family announces his passing on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at the Owen Sound Regional Hospital, while surrounded by the love and prayers of those who loved him the most. Aaron was born on May 20, 1982 to his loving parents Bob and Kathy. Left behind to miss him immensely are his fiancé, Catherine Powell and her children Brailin and Autumn who he considered as his own. Aaron was loved his entire life by his parents Bob and Martha Heywood and Scott and Kathy (Scott) Rowland. Privileged to be his siblings are Lynette (Jeff) Lewis, Josh Heywood, Cody (Rachael) Rowland, Tyler (Rachel) Rowland, Lisa (Matt) Wood, and Teri (Craig) Hern. Aaron was the beloved and adored uncle of Stella and Grace Lewis, who will treasure their memories that Aaron’s imagination created for them. Aaron was much loved and will be dearly missed by Catherine’s entire family. Aaron was called Papa by two very special children to him. He will be missed by many aunts, uncles, and cousins as well as his nieces Makenna Wood and Kanya Hern and nephew Curtis Wood. Aaron attended Stephen Central Public School and South Huron District High School. He chose to apprentice in the trades, with active tickets in sheet metal and gas fitting. He was recently employed by Sheet Metal Workers International Association Local 473. Aaron had a heart of gold and everyone knew it. If someone needed a hand, he was there. Aaron took great pride in his many accomplishments. He didn’t shy away from any home renovations and loved to show off his handiwork. He loved to golf and would wake up with the sun to do so. Aaron would never hesitate to stop and take a photograph of a stunning countryside scene and send it to his family. Aaron was renowned as the man who walked peacefully through his backyard forest followed by both his devoted dog, Gemma and cat, David. Aaron did a great job of reaching out to old friends to stay in touch and always made sure his family knew they were loved by him. Aaron had some struggles that he was determined to overcome and he tried his best. The Teen Challenge program held a special place in his heart. Aaron had a solid faith and understanding of what Christ had accomplished for him. Aaron did not shy away from sharing this good news and his blessed assurance with others and had a remarkable testimony. Aaron leaves us all with joy filled memories and hope for the future. Visitation for family and friends will be held at the Exeter Bible Chapel, 187 Huron St., West, Exeter, on Friday, August 6, from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Covid restrictions of masks and social distancing will be in effect. Bob and Family,
We were so saddened to hear of Aaron‘s passing. We had not seen Aaron in many years, but we have such wonderful memories of him when you lived beside us. Aaron was like a fourth son to us as he spent many vacations and fun times with us. He was such a great kid and loved being with our boys – and they loved being with him! He and Mike sure made the best little line on their hockey team – and boy did they work together well and scored a lot of goals! These were great years, and Ben and I will always treasure those memories with Aaron. He will live on in our hearts as a very special friend to our family! May he Rest In Peace.

Dear Kathy, Scott, and family,
Although we never had the honour of meeting Aaron, Cody and Rachael have shared many wonderful memories of his life – his kindness, humour, generosity – and he was cherished by all who knew him. We share your grief in the loss of your son, brother, and partner, and we are keeping you in our hearts. In the difficult days ahead, find comfort in each other. Treasure the happy memories and let them light your way through this darkness. A donation has been made to Teen Challenge in memory of Aaron, so that his light may be carried to others.
With love,
Lori and Ron Martin-Siebert

Praying for you all . . . our hearts are heavy with sadness after we learned the heartbreaking news about the sudden passing of such an amazing young man, Aaron – who God called home at such a young age. We are grieving alongside you & praying for strength & peace in the difficult days ahead. The pictures chosen, demonstrate a strong bond that can never be broken. Treasure the wonderful memories & happy moments Aaron has blessed each of you with, as these moments will bring a warm smile to your heart. I hope it brings you some comfort knowing how much Aaron loved all of you unconditionally & appreciated how much you were there for him in every way possible. May you find peace in knowing you were the best “Family” Aaron had. Remember his devoted love of those he held dear & keep the happy & joyful memories close to your hearts as you grieve. You have so many wonderful family, friends, neighbours & community grieving along side you also – please find strength by leaning on them for faith, courage, comfort, & support. Rest in Peace Aaron. You were loved beyond measure by so many people & you made this world a better place by being here. God Bless you & all of your loved ones.

Dear Family of Aaron,
Please accept our very deepest sympathy at your loss of a son, brother, fiancé, uncle and friend. Although I do not remember Aaron well, I do remember the days of Heywood’s Country Restaurant and the little ones playing in the backyard, or walking in the ditch down to our house to play. Times were so easy then. From your write up of Aaron, it sounds like he turned into a wonderful young man. Losing someone is never easy. Know that you are supported by the love and prayers of family and friends. God Bless.
